Intuitive navigation
As a first time user, I recommend setting your Padlet to "org only" so that you can see the name of the student that is posting it. Have them click "continue with Google" and use their school login into. I like the "wall" format of the posts. I also recommend my students use the video feature right on Padlet instead of recording it on their phone or computer and then uploading it. That ends up needing my approval before the rest of the class can see their post. To troubleshoot some common issues, I ask them to try different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) if things aren't working as expected the first time.

Recommending Padlet for Educators & Students
I've been using Padlet for many years and have loved it as a teaching tool. I've also given a few presentations about Padlet to faculty.
I only wish it would integrate with our Canvas gradebook. That would have made life much easier, but I've kind of found a workaround and use it, but still, integrating with the grade book like Hypothesis does is very important.

The Swiss Army Knife of Tech Tools
Padlet seems to do it all. It is true that the free version is limited, but it is pretty easy to save a board and re-use it with another class period or course. I use Padlet with high school students and university students; everyone finds it easy to use.

A Space For Sharing
I like being able to have a digital space as a gallery of student work. I can only display so much work on my walls and other digital platforms are limited on features like anonymity and aesthetic backgrounds. It builds students confidence and gives them a safe space for hard conversations. I love Padlet!

A great resource for icebreakers and discussions. For best use, provide clear instructions or model its use to students
I think this is a great teaching tool, but I would encourage teachers to make sure that all their students understand how to use this technology and provide clear instructions when using it. I like that there is a variety of ways to use Padlet, yet I believe there is a lot of templates and videos in the website that it just becomes bit confusing and overwhelming.

Excellent tool to enable discussions in university classes
Excellent tool - worked well in large class settings. Would be interesting to see it in small class settings and compare.

A wonderful one-stop-shop for educational resources and activities!
I love using Padlet - It is the only link I need to share with my students and they have all that they need at a glance...no hidden links to find to get to one activity or lesson from another...it is all there in one place. I renew my subscription every year - for me, it is an indispensable learning tool.

A Great Resource for Collaboration and Discussions
When viewing Padlet through the lens of SAMR, it typically falls under Substitution and Augmentation. Padlet can be used to substitute regular class discussions and group work. Students can post their comments and thoughts, which is not something you can do in a traditional environment. Padlet is very easy to use. You can type up your thoughts the same way you'd type on a Google Doc. You can highlight, bold and italicize words along with adding your own pictures to the website. I like that you can design Padlets for the classroom so that they're visually interesting for students. The only issue with Padlet is that it can get cluttered. If you teach bigger classes, there's going to be a lot of posts cluttered on screen. For example, if you have a class of 30 students and each student is expected to comment on one person's post, there will be a jumble of posts on screen. This could be overwhelming to read for both the students and the teacher, so this is something you should watch out for. Padlet works well for smaller classes but can get overwhelming when teaching large classes. Padlet is a great way to integrate beginner-level technology in the classroom if you're unsure about using more complicated tools. This tool in particular is a good way for students to post their independent thoughts and then come together to discuss the content being taught by their instructor.

Great For Icebreakers & Quick Feedback
I really appreciate being able to have a tool such as Padlet in my toolbox. It is easy to use and even better - reuse. I love the new slideshow feature and plan to use it with my Math For Social Justice class. It creates a quick slideshow of posts which will be great to get quick student opinions on a topic and they can even use it anonymously
