My Take
I've been using Padlet for many years and have loved it as a teaching tool. I've also given a few presentations about Padlet to faculty.
I only wish it would integrate with our Canvas gradebook. That would have made life much easier, but I've kind of found a workaround and use it, but still, integrating with the grade book like Hypothesis does is very important.
How I Use It
I've been using Padlet with my students for a few years now (probably 8 or more years). I have them create their own blogs in which they post their research, arguments, pictures, and videos. There's a pride of ownership that goes with these blogs, so learning happens in a fun way. Students also like to visit each other's blogs and get a little competitive.
We begin the semester with "Who Am I" boards in Padlet. This helps us keep everybody's names and interests on one board for familiarity with each other as a class community.
I use Padlet for making presentations in class and for faculty. I use it for brainstorming in meetings, and I use it for assignment prompts.
We also use Padlets in the classroom for interactive sessions, and at the end of the semester, we use Padlets for Wisdom Walls where students leave messages for the next batch of students.
We use Padlets for "think, pair, share," and every group in the class has its own Padlet board for group projects.
As a school, we have the Padlet Backpack subscription, which has been extremely useful.
