A great resource for icebreakers and discussions. For best use, provide clear instructions or model its use to students

My Take

I think this is a great teaching tool, but I would encourage teachers to make sure that all their students understand how to use this technology and provide clear instructions when using it. I like that there is a variety of ways to use Padlet, yet I believe there is a lot of templates and videos in the website that it just becomes bit confusing and overwhelming.

How I Use It

The last presentation that I had with a team, we used Padlet to create an icebreaker. Participants stated that the activity was fun, but the instructions for using this technological tool were confusing. When I made my post for the same activity, I also became confused on how to do some things. Padlet seems to have a variety of templates to choose from, which is great, but I found it to be highly complicated to understand each template's differences and functions.
When implementing the SAMR framework, I would state that this resource enhances classroom instruction; it is a substitution of a classroom discussion, but there is functional improvements to it due to students being able to provide a diversity of attachments to support their answers. Hence, I would identify this tool to fall in the category of augmentation of the SAMR framework and should be used to reinforce material that will be taught (icebreakers) or was already taught during class (review discussion).
