Perfect for closing skill gaps!
MobyMax is perfect for closing skill gaps and engaging all learners. My kiddos are always asking to use MobyMax at school and at home! MobyMax does a great job of guiding students through lessons with the use of videos and practice questions. This helps me have time for my other students and gives me the piece of mind that the ones on the computers are actually learning when they are working on MobyMax lessons. MobyMax also has so many engaging motivational features for the students. My kiddos really love earning badges and game time! MobyMax has the best customer support hands down and always answers my questions in a timely manner. Looking forward to a successful school year with MobyMax.

Great tool for filling in learning gaps!
This is a great resource for helping kiddos fill in any gaps that they may have, particularly in Math, but this program provides a full K-8th grade curriculum in most other subjects as well. I would highly recommend it to teachers (especially those like me that were short on time, but expected to make extra lesson plans) that work with struggling students. Great product overall!

Standards based, takes the guesswork out of Differentiating Instruction and RTI
MobyMax takes the guesswork out of differentiated instruction. I love that I can set each student up with a placement test and they are given lessons to reinforce their missing standards. I can check on their progress, print their standards proficiency data, and even customize lessons or create IEP goals directly from their site. If you work with special ed or struggling learners, the customization that MobyMax offers is outstanding. I can change the passing percentage, I can include read-aloud sounds, I can add a student's IEP goals and it will track their proficiency for each standard goal they have. It's easy to see where a student is struggling and then pull problems and lessons from the MobyMax curriculum for remediation or intervention. Especially, reading and ELA intervention where you can specifically assign reading skills lessons or reading passages to test the student's comprehension skills, phonemic awareness, basic decoding skills, and vocabulary development. Since it is a K-8 curriculum, it works great in elementary schools and for students who are performing below grade level but it can also provide advanced and gifted students with material above their grade level. The website is safe and all my personal information is guarded carefully, and my students do not have any ability to message any user besides their teacher.

Honestly, Mobymax is one of the worse online learning apps I've seen. I can't fit all of the issues but, Mobymax doesn't grade properly. you get 8/9, mobymax rates it 75%. If the app doesn't know basic math then why should it be teaching the next gen?
Overall, don't use it if you can help it. Honestly mobymax is not helpful. Often kids scroll through all of the questions and once they take the test they bomb it. This is especially an issue since practically every teacher I've met uses it. It doesn't help kids learn, it just teaches them how to avoid work and not pay attention.

When I ask my students if the like MobyMax they say they hate it. When they are working on the learning platform, I have to walk around the room to explain the skills. At any given moment there are 5-10 hands raised. I know about the lesson player button.
This doesn’t seem to be effective for struggling learners. It cannot be used as an independent learning activity while I work in small groups. It makes my job harder because I have to react to many different lessons at one time rather than assigning the same lesson to a small group and let students work together to figure it out. Students need 1:1 and small group work. Teachers can find and correct confusion. MobyMax can only tell the student if they are right or wrong and play pre-recorded lessons. It can not identify misunderstandings and explain to the students exactly what made their answer wrong and how to fix it.
