Glitchy but worth it. Kids love it. Coupled with persuasive writing, works like a charm.
Using the Tellagami app definitely improved student learning. It required them to condense their arguments into shorter, concise positions. They loved creating the avatars, choosing gender, clothing, hair, etc. Each one was a reflection of the writer in digital format! They loved it. I loved how it forced them to really think through the facts of the event. The only issue we encountered was using the voice feature. Just too glitchy. We worked around it by typing in responses. Hope the developers fix this problem. Well worth using again.

A fun way for students to share learning
Some people complain about the video capability being limited to only 30 seconds. However, we find it easy to stitch different videos together using iMovie. Furthermore, using iMovie allows us to change backgrounds and characters to make a more dynamic presentation.

Great way to add a little humor to directions
I think it is a great way to add a little humor to a classroom. In addition, it is easy to use with students so it is also a great way to allow them some creativity and a taste of animation (Tellagami isn't real animation, but its more robust than something like Voki).

Creative Option for Presenting
Tellagami is one of my top five favorite apps to use in my classroom. It is easy to use but makes the students really think about what information they should use in the project. Even though students can record their own voice, most of them use the text option for the avatar to speak. Plus, the students like to use the finished project with Aurasma to attach their project to book covers or pictures on their class bulletin board.

Create short animated movies in any subject area.
I really like Tellagami as a teaching tool! My students were very engaged as they created their "Gamis" (animated videos). I really like the fact that you can email the link to others, so you can share your creation. However, the best part was the ability to embed the Tellagimi projects on our class blog. The down side was when we tried uploading them to You Tube, we couldn't get it to work properly. Because the videos are short, you are somewhat limited, but I still feel that Tellagami has its place in the 21st century classroom.
