Overall, I love this app as a teaching tool. It is easy to use, offers a great platform to assess learning, and provides a place for creativity. The in-app paid additions offer several historical figures that can be used in shows and the ability to insert personal backgrounds using the built-in iPad camera. The free version is somewhat limited in characters and backgrounds, but overall a great app that is truly engaging!

Great product and allows students to easily demonstrate some creativity on their part to show their learning. The in-app purchases to gain more content in the app are a bit of a let down, but not overly expensive to break the bank for a teacher. Still in the inclusion of more sets in the free version and some even more quality sets in the director's pack could be a great improvement of the product.

I like the creativity offered to the students. This is an excellent resource to do a story retell or to teach the steps to writing a play assigning parts to various people. This gets the students excited about the project! It may take several days to complete one project. The app is not free.

I really liked both versions of this app. The paid version was definitely worth the upgrade and it is also available in the Apple VPP program. I would recommend more tutorials to show how to make more specific edits. The export options are ideal as well for when students finished their videos and needed to share them with the teacher (myself).

I loved using this app as much as my students did. My favorite part was that it saves to the camera roll on the iPads so the students were able to save it to their Google Drive, making accessing and sharing it very easy. Each student had an individual role and was able to complete it with little assistance from me. The app is very intuitive and allows for as much creation as students would like. Students could choose from pre-loaded characters and backdrops, or create their own. It was very apparent to me that the students understood the elements of myths by viewing their final projects and they were highly engaged the whole time.

In and of itself, this app is not necessarily educational, but I strongly believe that any program or app is about how you use it. It has the potential to be an app that is just for fun and being silly, however, if a teacher uses this app as a vehicle for the content, it could give a lot of choice and voice in their learning because it is definitely engaging!

I absolutely love this app. I love how versatile it can be use from K-5. I recommend this app to any educator.

I like to incorporate Puppet pals as a literacy tool. I have used in preK and in my current third grade classroom. This app reenforces story structure including narrative elements, speaking, and listening skills. It is especially helpful for students who either struggle or unable to write down their thoughts. Additionally, the app allows for students to bring their stories to life with narration and the ability to record while manipulating characters on a screen.
