My Take

In and of itself, this app is not necessarily educational, but I strongly believe that any program or app is about how you use it. It has the potential to be an app that is just for fun and being silly, however, if a teacher uses this app as a vehicle for the content, it could give a lot of choice and voice in their learning because it is definitely engaging!

How I Use It

I am using this app to help students practice fluency by publishing readers theater plays. The variety of characters, backgrounds, and combinations is perfect for this! It is very engaging and much less work to perform a play on the app than trying to have students create props and read things live in front of an audience.
Using puppet pals 2 for fluency practice gives students the opportunity to demonstrate many elements of fluency such as expression, tone, mood, symbolism and rate, which they could focus on in the production of their movie.

I think puppet pals 2 is much better than the first version. It has the potential to animate the characters more, mix and match bodies and heads, and even add your own head onto one of the bodies! As always the paid version has many more options than the free version.
