Disappointment, will not continue
The limitation on how much time a child can engage is a huge downfall. Everyone has different learning styles and many children need to immerse themselves in their interests in order to learn most effectively. Limiting this is limiting learning and self direction. That is the biggest down side. The confusing processes logging in and starting sessions, the loading time is ridiculous between every screen, use of 'grade level' to start is irrelevant for some. Would be better to start by ascertaining where a child is needing/wanting to start. Using generalisations about screen time needing to be limited etc is harmful in so many ways; many need screens to communicate, read, engage meaningfully and can be the most effective relevant way to learn etc. Promoting reduction of or judging screen time is ableist.

My child loves it.
My daughter LOVES this program so far. In 2 weeks she completed 30%. Although she will be in 4th grade she needs to catch up a lot during this summer. So we started reviewing from 2nd grade. I found this program very useful for practice. I don't like math videos much and explaining everything by myself. Games are nice, characters and rewards are wonderful. I didn't have any problems with AdaptedMind so far.

Do NOT waste your time or money!! Possibly Fraudulent!!
Everything about this is junk. There is no way this is created by Ivy Leaguers-nothing professional about it. The website design is not fluid or very user friendly. The game model is ok and the graphics are neat but the actual material and learning is annoying. Watching youtube videos and then answering questions after them is not the interactive way I want my kiddos to learn. They’ve learned more from PBSKids. And the automated voice reading the questions is awful. Again not made my an Ivy League programmer. Also watch your billing once you’re signed up. I’ve read lots of complaints online about customer still being charged after cancelling. I just cancelled now after several months of meh. So I plan to watch my bank statement.
Again, don’t waste your time or money, there are TON of better sites out there.

Fun and easy practice to help build a strong foundation
From this parent's point of view, the monster reward system is the highlight of Adapted Mind. The integrated anticipation of success followed by the opportunity to be creative and see concrete evidence of hard work is what creates a lure to continue the necessary lessons. For this reason, Adapted Mind stands out for us when comparing similar programs aimed at providing a similar service.

Fraudulent website!
BEWARE!! Same thing happened to me... once I cancelled my subscription they continued to charge my account without me realizing. I emailed and they said it would stop and they STILL charged my account the very next day. 2 weeks later and many emails back and forth, and they still have not refunded me despite saying they had done so on PayPal. Of course the refund never came through and I am back to square one. Be careful, I definitely DO NOT recommend this site!!!

Beware! They contue charging credit card after you cancel subscription
My kid likes math but hates Adapted Mind. I think many kids would avoid using it if at all possible. It’s just not fun or engaging.
We had to cancel our subscription because my daughter refused to use it. However, the company does not send a cancellation confirmation. Adapted Mind continued to bill me for many months after I cancelled. My credit card company was able to secure a credit for two months, but Adapted Mind refused to acknowledge their mistake. Many other parents have had similar experiences. Just do a web search. I had learned about this company from Common Sense Media, and really regret subscribing. They have unethical billing practices. Tip: if you subscribe and later cancel, take a screenshot of the cancellation request and keep notes on when you cancelled. They will claim you did not cancel, and say they provide a refund only if you send a screenshot.

Love it! Engaging and great to reinforce many math skills!
AT SCHOOL: I am also an educator, so I can see how Adapted Mind can also be useful in the classroom too! You could use for ALL student levels since you can choose their level in which you'd like them to begin working and gradually work their way up. The key is to have them continually practice, so it can also be given as a homework assignment too. If you know a child is lacking confidence in general in math, perhaps this program would be beneficial too to help them build confidence on easier skills on a different level first, and then you could choose easier grade level skills to continue to build that confidence to work more challenging skills and problems. I also like that the questions are mostly answers that you have to enter manually instead of multiple choice. There are VERY FEW multiple choice answer choices! OVERALL, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ALL PARENTS AND EDUCATORS! It's definitely money well spent, at a very SMALL fraction of the cost of a fancy tutoring place! They give a 30 day FREE trial, so I highly recommend it to see if it fits your student's need. You won't be disappointed!

Good program to review and increase child's confidence.
It appears to be a fun tool for my kid to review and strengthen her confidence in Math. The video materials do not always match the content, and thus could require an adults involvement and explanation.

Pretty visuals, thorough content, but clunky and confusing design
AdaptedMind is very thorough. In each grade level, skills are broken down to their smallest parts for students to practice, and each grade level has dozens of skills for students to choose from. However, the website does not make it clear how these skills are aligned to standards (Common Core State Standards, NCTM standards, etc.). The major drawback of this website is the design. While the badges are beautiful, the fonts and page layouts are clunky. In fact, some of the text on the page could be mistaken for ads. The fonts are also troublesome when it comes to completing the practice problems - it can be difficult to tell a variable X from a multiplication symbol. Many word problems have multiple boxes for students to fill in with values, but it can be unclear exactly what they are supposed to do. Overall, for adaptive math practice in elementary and middle school, you're better off using one of the many alternatives.
