My Take
The limitation on how much time a child can engage is a huge downfall. Everyone has different learning styles and many children need to immerse themselves in their interests in order to learn most effectively. Limiting this is limiting learning and self direction. That is the biggest down side. The confusing processes logging in and starting sessions, the loading time is ridiculous between every screen, use of 'grade level' to start is irrelevant for some. Would be better to start by ascertaining where a child is needing/wanting to start. Using generalisations about screen time needing to be limited etc is harmful in so many ways; many need screens to communicate, read, engage meaningfully and can be the most effective relevant way to learn etc. Promoting reduction of or judging screen time is ableist.
How I Use It
One of our little ones wanted to try this website; we were hoping for an interesting, engaging and supportive learning opportunity for especially maths concepts and hopefully others offered. We were very disappointed in many aspects.
