Visually appealing display of brief discussions, brainstorming, and even final products.
Padlet in itself serves its purpose well, and can be an effective and visually engaging tool for student discussion and content submission. The free response nature requires that students have a good understanding of the quality and purpose behind the posts they are about to make, which can help create a very interactive technology experience.

Great tool for reading fluency and expression
I really like using Padlet in different situations. This tool allows students to reflect on their own work and collaborate with other students. The limitation that I found is that you can't create that many Padlets with the free account. Several teachers said they can only create 3 Padlets, other teachers said they can create up to 8. If you reach your limit you must permanently delete a Padlet (includes the work done by all of your students for that one Padlet) to make space for a new Padlet.

Versatile tool for a tech driven class!
Padlet is an extremely versatile tool that saves a lot of time for teachers in terms of sharing resources and activity links required for class and is a great substitute for Hyperdocs. It is also great for students for sharing their portfolios and projects. The interface is very user-friendly and is highly customizable with multiple options available in terms of format, exporting, sharing and privacy control.
The only limitation of this tool is that you can only create 8 Padlets using the free account. It is not expensive for the versatility it offers and if your school can support you on it, nothing like it! One workaround is using multiple accounts using different email ids to get more Padlets
Highly recommend this tool in a BYOD set up!

Easy to use. Students can become the teachers.
Padlet is an extremely easy tool to use. The students also figured it out right away. It is good for student-driven learning as well as for practice of skill. Slower learners or ELLs can benefit by seeing models of what their peers posted before posting their own. Advanced learners can take their posts beyond.

Engaging & Collaborative tool!
Padlet is a great collaboration tool with a finished display that is appealing to the visual learner. I like the feature where students can comment on post uploaded by their classmates and give a star, upvote or like post in support of what was said. There is also the ability to add animations or images to the screen to stimulate greater interaction with the content.
A drawback of padlet that I discovered, is that some students use the opportunity to post items/pictures that are not related to the discussion, which takes a long time on the teacher's end to manually delete. There is currently a profanity filter, but it would be very effective if there was an additional feature where the teacher approves the comment before it is posted.

Padlet for the beginner techie!
I enjoy using padlet. I think it is a great starter tool for teachers who are hesitant or who are just beginning to integrate technology into their classroom. It is very user friendly and allow teachers and students to gain confidence and competence with different technologies. I do think there are better products that require deeper and more creative collaboration (Microsoft 365 and google docs). I think padlet allows for teachers and students to feel more interconnected about the learning process. I think it is essential to view and discuss individual posts as a whole group. This allows students to learn from each other and make those essential connections to deeper their learning.

Padlet for Participation
Overall, I think that the Padlet app is a great app for serving the purpose of spring boarding for basic discussions and initial thoughts or ideas. I think that the app allows for collaboration, communication, and critical thinking opportunities. As far as creative thinking, I think that Padlet lacks in providing open opportunities for this. Even though the app allows you to post either texts, videos, or images- it is only limited to those 3 visual displays. I like that Padlet allows you to see all of the responses of those who posts, however I don't like that students can post anything without prior approval from the teacher. When the purpose is for students to post individual thoughts and initial responses, they are able to see as soon as a student posts. They don't have to have the post approved. If this was the case, teachers could wait and approve all of the posts at the same time so those students who wait for others to share first would have an advantage and not share their original creative thoughts. This technology tool can better serve students by providing them with the opportunity to digitally collaborate and communicate their thinking with each other in one learning space. This tool can better serve teaching because it allows the teacher the opportunity to focus on individual student responses and allow them to extend their thinking based on what they post. As mentioned, it is a springboard for deeper understanding and critical thinking discussion. In relation to TPACK, students have to have knowledge of how to use the technological tool in order for it to be used effectively. Pedagogically, it allows the teacher to use this app as formative assessment and as an instructional strategy. This tool can help to deepen student inquiry and work flow. It is a tool of collaboration amongst all students. In relation to the SAMR framework, it serves as augmentation because students are able to share their thoughts, but are not able to directly provide feedback on the app. They are able to use different features within the app to share their thoughts and ideas either via a text response, video, or image and then elaborate on their post. Overall, I think that Padlet is a great app to use in the classroom to support learning for students through communication and collaboration.

Highly engaging, teacher & student user-friendly tool with many useful features!
On the teacher side of things, Padlet allows you to share resources where you can not only type, but post links, photos, and record your voice. It is flexible, so I set a Padlet up for each of my AP Language and Composition classes in order to get information out to them. You can organize in a clear manner (however you so choose), and it is has privacy options so you can ensure that your content is secure for your students only.
The only problem that I encountered with Padlet, is that it doesn’t allow you to see each and every “user activity” that has been done. It will alert you to the last person (and time) that he/she posted, but it doesn’t give you a breakdown of each posting done prior. Some people may not want to see all of this, but it would have been helpful for me as I had a few instances where students insisted that they posted and yet there was nothing there. If in fact they had posted, and their writing somehow got lost in “cyber space”, an activity log would have been helpful.
