An awesome app with MANY uses across grade levels.
I find this to be one of the most useful free apps I have found. We have not upgraded ours to the paid version. Popplet Lite (the free version) allows you to type, draw, and import pictures into the popples. It also allows you to save your popple as a jpeg straight into the Camera Roll on iPad. That means students can easily turn in popplets they created using Edmodo. Popplet has been extremely valuable to all of the classrooms I have introduced it to at my school.

A quick to learn program that can be used for brainstorming OR making a presentation!
This is an easy to learn program. There is a short tutorial that is available to get the user started. I think it would work well for brainstorming ideas with a class or for making mind maps for problem solving, building vocabulary, or showing relationships/condensing material/making historical connections from literature and history. I think it would be great to use for collaborative group work too. It could be used as an introduction to a unit, mapping what is known and those areas unknown too. Then when the unit is almost finished, using it to fill in the unknown areas and making connections using the first map. Foreign language classes could link English words to the foreign language word, adding images for a presentation.

Popplet Lite is a great little graphic organizer.
Popplet Lite is a good brainstorming app with student delivery options. It's easy to use and no log in is required. It's iPhone and iPad formatted. On the lite version, you can only create one popple at a time, but you can always save it to the camera roll. This app is useful for open-ended projects that require student initiative. I have found this is useful for students to use rather than me guiding them down a particular path. It allows students to create the work flow without teacher counsel. Draw-Backs: with the lite version, students cannot revise once another is started.

A great presentation tool that also helps students categorize information.
Poppet is a simple tool that can be used for presentation of ideas, student collaboration, and organizing information. Presentations and notes can be created using colors, text and images. Poppet can also be used when teaching students how to take notes in a content class. The app is available for apple devices. One note: Images can be added, but video clips cannot be used here. Overall, this tool has a variety of uses in the classroom!

Dynamic brainstorming and organization App/website
Popplet is a great app/website for brainstorming and to begin thinking about a topic. It is easy to upload pictures, links and to draw in the popples to organize thoughts and ideas. My students were engaged and liked being able to use the App. We used the free App in class and my students take pictures of their finished work and then delete their work so they can make multiple popplets. It is annoying that it does not have a spell check, but I do not use this app for final products but rather initial idea gathering and organization so that is not a huge concern for that stage of the learning.

A visual mind mapping tool for both tablets and computers
This site allows students and teachers to create, collaborate and share mind maps using a intuitive interface. The mind map look great and the interface is great for environments with tablets, computers or both! The ability to collaborate on maps add notes to the boxes (popples) is excellent for assessment, evaluation and feedback. The presentation mode is also great too.My one gripe is the lost password interface as students can easily get locked out if they forget their password. The lost password email takes a while and in the hustle and bustle of a class, productivity is affected. Hopefully this process can be sped up. Overall, this is superb solution for mind mapping on any stage of a project with students from Grade 4 (aged 9) and up.
