My Take

This site allows students and teachers to create, collaborate and share mind maps using a intuitive interface. The mind map look great and the interface is great for environments with tablets, computers or both! The ability to collaborate on maps add notes to the boxes (popples) is excellent for assessment, evaluation and feedback. The presentation mode is also great too.My one gripe is the lost password interface as students can easily get locked out if they forget their password. The lost password email takes a while and in the hustle and bustle of a class, productivity is affected. Hopefully this process can be sped up. Overall, this is superb solution for mind mapping on any stage of a project with students from Grade 4 (aged 9) and up.

How I Use It

We used this product with Grade 4 and 5 students in a variety of settings and subjects. Our students create a personal mind map and use the software for an assessment on a Canadian physical region. In this culminating tasks, students create a multimedia project in an inquiry based unit. See above for my suggestion on password recovery.
