Very easy to use, but distracting water marks mean I won't be using it again.
The watermark used to be in the corner and not as distracting. Now, not only have they raised the prices for the subscription service to a point where no school or student would be able to afford it, we are stuck staring at ANIMOTO in the middle of anything creative a student could have produced.

Great site for creating slideshows
Overall, I love the simplicity of Animoto. The features are very easy to use, and the music and transitions are timed perfectly to go with their slides. This allows students a chance to showcase their creativity in so many ways. Plus, with 30 free student accounts you can't beat the price. One thing that could be changed is to allow more text on a slide, or to be able to change transitions. Many features are built in to Animoto, which makes the choices for students limiting. But overall I love it!

Great site for creating presentations using still images, short videos, and music.
Animoto is easy to use. Students can use images, short videos, and music to create presentations. Text slides can be inserted which aids in the explanation of the pictures and videos. It is very easy to revise and move the slides to get the desired presentation.
Teachers can apply for a free education account (https://animoto.com/education/classroom). Once the account is created Animoto will email the teacher a code they can pass along to their students to use when creating their accounts. This allows students access to more templates and a longer presentation time than a regular account.

Great way to incorporate music and visuals for an anticipatory set!
Animoto is an incredible teaching tool. It is very easy to manipulate (upload jpg), create an order or random view, and add music - that's it! I like that the tool is easy for students to use therefore, the mechanics of the tool do not get in the way of the expression.
BE CAREFUL how long you make the video, unfortunately, I had to sit through a professional development wherein the presenter had a 15 minute Animoto that liked to bore everyone in the room to tears! It doesn't take much to get your point across - just remember, quality, NOT quantity!

Quick and easy way to add visuals to poetry or spice up a presentation.
I like that Animoto elevates the work of my students who struggle with art and design. By removing their anxiety over creating presentations, students are able to focus on the content and still flex some creative muscle. At the same time, creative students have access to a new tool and are able to explore new design elements they might not have come up with on their own or been able to create in a simple PowerPoint.
I would like to see an advanced editing option to give students a little more freedom, but overall I am happy with the product and feel it is a useful tool to increase student involvement with certain concepts.

A quick and easy way for students to make videos.
The only thing that would make it better is not limiting the number of classroom accounts available, especially for middle and high school teachers who see many different classes each day.

Limited but easy video tool to create presentations.
It works well for presentations and gives students another option on what they can use when putting together something for presenting to the class. It's very simple, which can frustrate students who are more advanced with video editing, but keeps them on task. I found the simplicity helpful because it kept them focused and on task.

Easy video creator/editor for young students!
I love Animoto! I love that the program is super easy and user friendly for young students. I do wish the program had longer text input options as sometimes it cuts kids creative writing skills short. It is important to let your students know that they will need to be succinct in their writing and description of their pictures and videos.

Awesome Animoto
This is a great teaching tool that introduces scholars to the movie making process. Animoto prepares users to be able to use the more complicated Movie Maker or iMovie later in their academic career. Animoto is fun, quick and stress free. This tool is suitable for every type of user from the novice to the expert. Templates and music have lots of variety. More advanced users are able to learn how to download their own music or import personal pictures should they so desire. Animoto could better serve educators by offering a two minute free education version, instead of just 30 seconds. Children really liked having the capability of making e-cards for special days / events. This is a must have in any school library or classroom.

Creative way to add visuals and captions to student work.
I love this product as a tool. It gets students motivated and interested in demonstrating their knowledge. It can be used in groups at first, then individually. It is especially helpful for the divergent learner who is creative and show what they know in another way. Careful not to overuse or it becomes boring and redundant. I would introduce it, then come back to it periodically to keep the freshness alive. I would use it even for elementary grades.
