A great way to engage students in learning!
This is a great tool to introduce a new topic or to expand on lessons already taught. It's a great break from the usual direct instruction. My students also love doing the quizzes and other activities after the videos. It's been a great resource in my second grade classroom!

What Library Media Specialists think of BrainPop Jr.
BrainPop Jr. is an excellent teaching tool. It also allows students to be engaged in the topic by teaching students from a cartoon video aspect. I really like how there is a quiz or an additional activity with the video, to really test students knowledge about the topic and video they have watched. The only critique I would give is that BrainPop Jr. requires you to log in to watch videos. It would be helpful if majority of the videos did not require a log in.

If your kids don't ask to watch Moby now, they will after one lesson!
I think this teaching tool is a great way to introduce even our youngest students to complex concepts. BrainPOP does an excellent job of making the concepts simple enough to understand and the extension activities are a great way to check for understanding. Over the last few years, BrainPop has significantly increased their offerings and now includes lesson plans for educators and even certification courses for becoming a BrainPop educator. If you are looking for creative, engaging ways to reach your students, then BrainPop is for you.

Great introduction to a vast array of topics!
This is a well-done educational tool. It is highly engaging for the younger students with its humorous main characters and short, but informative, videos. The assessment can be at a very basic level or slightly higher, which is helpful given the spread of abilities in K-2. The games and paper/pencil activities are a nice addition, but not really necessary. They are good “filler” if needed to reinforce the concept a bit.

Great way to engage students in new concepts.
I think this tool has made significant improvements that make it far more suitable to the special education classroom. It is a valuable teaching tool as it provides exposure to concepts and facts in a way that is engaging to students. I have never looked for a theme or concept and not found a Brainpop Jr movie. I think it is good for collaboration and communication and also individual work. It is also accessible to students at many levels. Sometimes I feel that the movies are a little fast-paced for some of my students and would prefer if they used less complicated sentences. However, most students can follow them after a few viewings. The assessment tools are very useful to tell which students have understood the concepts.

This program is great in ensuring younger students are introduced to a variety of topics, in a fun, creative, and visually stimulating way!
Everything that I mentioned above in the "How I Use It" section is just the tip of the iceberg! There is so much more that can be done in Brainpop Jr.! Some is free but it is completely worth it to buy a subscription. Our school has purchased a site license, 24/7 use, for the last 4 years. I truly recommended.

Great supplement to the curriculum!
I think that BrainPOPjr is a great tool to use with students of all ages. It is interactive and fun. The videos are super engaging and the kids LOVE it. There are so many different categories to choose from. There are videos for math, ELA, science and health. I do think that it would be nice if there were more differentiated versions of the activities they offer for each video. It offers games that move through different levels of difficulty.Overall I believe that this tool is worth the price.
