Engage students inside and outside of the classroom. They are already social, why shouldn't YOU be??
Community Review for Twitter
My Take
Twitter has strong potential for classroom use. How you set it up depends on your goals. It can be used to enage students outside of the classroom and connect them with content that enriches, supports, and even contradicts what you study and discuss in class, so that discussion can be taken to a whole other level!
How I Use It
Our high school has really embraced Twitter use. The high school has an offical account, as do many teachers. We tweet news and articles relevant to our content (sometimes as a part of homework), we tweet homework and assignments, reminders and due dates, and helpful info. Teachers in world language, social studies, ELA, science, business, and math all use Twitter. Our library, activities, and sports teams all use Twitter as well.
