Bio
I have been in education over ten years. I've taught theatre, social studies, speech, English and Spanish at the secondary level in both suburban and urban schools. Additionally, I coached debate, forensics, and dance team, sponsored Thespians and National Forensics League, and directed, choreographed, and designed 4 theatre productions a year (one traveling) as a theatre teacher. Administratively, I've served as both a building and district administrator in both urban and rural, and regular and alternative settings. I held a position in secondary social studies curriculum in an urban district overseeing six middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, and an alternative high school. In addition, I helped write a school improvement grant that was funded for $5.89 million for a school turnaround. Prior to my current position, I served as a K-12 Curriculum Coordinator, working towards full implementation of the Common Core State Standards in both math and language arts. I am passionate about meaningful, relevant professional development and curriculum, and technology integration. I have presented to state and national audiences. I am a self-proclaimed “language enthusiast” with a lifetime goal of speaking seven languages. I earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, MA in Education, MA in Counseling Psychology, and undergraduate degrees in Theatre, History, and English.
