Bio
I am a California girl who has been living in the South since 2010. I earned my BA in English Education and my first teaching credential from California State University, Fresno. Since then, I have taught in many different contexts, including rural and inner-city schools in Central California and both public and private schools in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am a proud member of the National Writing Project since 2008, when I had the privilege of attending my first Summer Institute with the San Joaquin Valley Writing Project. My work with NWP has revolutionized my teaching, and I continue to reap the benefits of the relationships I have made, even though I am far away from my original NWP site. While in North Carolina, I completed my M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction at North Carolina State University with a focus on New Literacies and Global Learning. I am passionate about digital literacy and critical inquiry, and always looking for new ideas and connections. Currently I am working as an Instructional Designer and Educational Technology Instructor in higher education.
