My Take

A very powerful presentation website, with professional results produced relatively easily. If you had told me 6 or 7 years ago children would be able to make these kinds of presentations in class, I would not have believed you. You will need to direct it as a teacher though, as the site is geared towards a business audience. Don't let that put you off though, and one word of warning - if children sign up with the class code, make sure an email address is given. Without this, should they forget their password, it is not possible to reset it from any kind of 'teacher console' - this is a drawback of the site - the fact that you also can't see centrally all their work. Despite this, worth a try!

How I Use It

There are a number of templates geared to education that can be used, and the option to create your own from a blank template. I have found that with 7 year-olds, adapting a template can sometimes be problematic as the themes are generally business-oriented, but the children soon get used to deleting parts they do not need. Children need to be careful to make sure their presentation makes sense and that information does not fly in and out at the end of a slide very quickly, for example. Exporting the final presentation movie can be tricky - probably best to be emailed directly to you as teacher, especially with the younger children.
