If you want your children to be taught they are a victim, then this is the resource for you. I watched one video and 3 minutes in, they already suggested I was a victim, had been oppressed and equity was best for all of us in our enlightened age. The fact that this company lists Critical Thinking as a skill you will acquire, is obsurd.

It is a definitively useful teaching tool, humanizing the classroom and allowing kids to work with it outside the classroom. It has clear instructions and interesting elements.

I like the app, it's a great way to feed the curious part of our minds. There is a variety of videos explaining a range of topics quite well with good depth. I can definitely see this app being used as a resource by teachers & parents everywhere to encourage their kids to be more independent in their research at an earlier age

I really enjoyed the process of using Mystery science, and I loved seeing how much my nephews enjoyed it. It enabled them to learn in a fun yet challenging way. They loved the "hands-on" experience that this software allows.

I think that this is great! I know students will be focused on whatever mystery is at hand and by having somewhat random mysteries to learn about will keep students on their toes. I really liked the structure of how the mystery will be solved by the class with a conclusion of a hands on learning excercise.

It was not the best not the worst. For a parent, this site may not be has convenient as it would be for teachers. The videos seemed long (although they were not) but son was easily bored and distracted and I had to rewind the videos so he can get some important points. Not all kids learn the same and for many I am sure this would work wonders but my son has ADHD this just did not work for him. Offering more interactive tools to keep him engaged during shorter periods of times might have been more helpful. Also, the idea having to "unlock" videos seems a little off. Maybe offering a game for the student to pass a level in order to unlock of videos versus having parents/ and or teacher sending out emails about the site to unlock ONE video would be more convenient.

An excellent teaching tool. Lessons and videos are clear and concise. Using Mystery Science allows me to best present information to my students in a more manageable way. This is a great tool.

It really gets the student thinking critically to try to solve these mysteries. I was a classroom teacher before I left to homeschool and HIGHLY suggest this resource for classroom teachers. I love it so much and will definitely be keeping this for as long as we can use it. I hope they add more content for older learners as my son grows because this curriculum is done in a way that draws the learner in and makes them a part of the process of discovery. That is what science is ALL about. I tried to think of any way to improve it, and I really can't. Doug, if you are reading this.... Thank you.

Mystery Science is an excellent teaching tool. It allows students to work at their own pace. Lessons and videos are clear, concise, colorful and entertaining. Videos allow time for thinking and reflecting on the information presented. And the best part is that students have a hands on lab project with each lesson. I teach science to a large number of third graders and using Mystery Science will take the mystery out of how to best present information to my students and be an organized and easy way to conduct experiments. I love this resource!

Bottom line: a bit overwhelming. There's so much for kids to explore, they can easily get lost or lose their focus. But as a center, it is a fabulous tool. The kids remain engaged because there are so many different types of learning available on each topic. I would provide the focus question at the center, for each topic, so students do have something to keep referring back to.
