Awesome hands-on construction; time-comsuming for students to become familiar with.
Overall, I love using Geogebra in the classroom. It is a great tool for teachers to use during direct instruction, especially for constructing geometrical objects, because I am not much of an artist! It aides with constructing objects to scale, in correct proportions. The students love being able to construct on the computer rather than on paper and without having to use straightedges and making sure everything is perfectly to scale! As far as a FREE tool to use in a mathematics classroom, this website is amazing!!!

Geogebra is such a necessary tool for students especially in Geometry.
I use geogebra in geometry to explore pretty much every concept. I love that its more user friendly and now available via ipad. I also love that it's in the chrome app store. In the past, it was a bit more clunky but the new version is so user friendly that kids can dig right in and learn. As a free dynamic geometry tool, it has totally impacted my classroom as it made geometry more than just images on a worksheet but applications that students could play with.

Wonderful teaching and learning tool with the ability to explore mathematics at various stages.
I was looking for a dynamic math/geometry software that enabled exploration of various topics in mathematics. GeoGebra has a relatively low learning curve and is pretty powerful in demonstrating multiple representations.

Geogebra has a wide variety of fun and interactive activities for math students.
There are many great activities on the geogebra website. The setup is quick as the applet will load in any web browser. In our computer lab, we sometimes have an issue with Java, but if you click, "load as html applet," it will work. The important thing when working with geogebra is to pick an activity that will work with your students. Some programs are more open-ended than others. If your class is not used to exploring things on their own then allowing them to do so with a computer program like Geogebra will not make much of a difference, and you will end up with a lot of off-task behavior. However, with Geogebra, you can make the lessons as structured as you want. For my classes, I will always include some questions to go along with the program so my students know that they need to produce something.

All-In-One Product for Schools on a Budget
I used GeoGebra extensively at my previous school. My department adapted it as a replacement for Geometers Sketchpad since GeoGebra is cheaper (free), does much more, and was easier for our IT team to manage. It also replaced Excel / other spreadsheet programs for classroom use for our precalculus, calculus, and statistics courses since GeoGebra has extensive spreadsheet capabilities that tie into the geometry and algebra. Added function aside, having one software instead of several streamlined everything both in terms of teacher and student training. Ultimately, using GeoGebra instead of GSP and Mathematica (which was what we used for visualizations and graphing before GeoGebra) saved us around $2000 per year in licensing fees.
The biggest problem I had with GeoGebra (as well as one of its strengths) is that it's Java based. This meant that Java errors or students who didn't update their devices regularly sometimes had problems. It also ran slow on some of our netbooks. It also didn't have Vernier probe connection capabilities so it meant that we had to do some extra steps via Vernier's software if we wanted to gather data, but that was not a major issue and can be forgiven easily since GeoGebra is free.

This is a wonderful way for students to explore Mathematics.
I work with math teachers district wide and I have used this product in the classroom setting to explore geometry concepts. It is a great visual for students to explore geometry based concepts without have to draw out multiple examples over and over to see how geometric theorems work. It will take some getting used to, and can be a little glitch, but overall it is a good product and free alternative to Geometer's SketchPad.

Great tool for exploring graphs of all types.
Students get to visually see the graph of their equations and discover the zeros/roots of those equations. Students can see how the graphs change by changing constants and exponents. This works well with a variety of levels and students can work with it at home or at school without an added expense.
