Great interactive visual for showing music note values.
Good teaching tool for individual or for class engagement with visual & oral presentation. I liked the individual mark up and voice integration that was easy to use. Downside was some of my learners were slower learners so the initial start up dragged but that was not the apps fault. The more they used it became easier and it became a favorite.

Excellent digital tool for modeling, sharing, and demonstrating student learning
ShowMe provides a simple, no-nonsense virtual whiteboard with a limited feature set for teachers to create lesson tutorials to share immediately in class or via recorded screencast. The selection of tools may limit some teachers that desire advanced options (videos or picture in picture for example) but will help students to focus on the screencast and not the digital tool when developing the video. Students sharing information, solutions to issues, and creating unique products are essential in the classroom of today.
When examining ShowMe in relation to SAMR, for my classroom it fell into augmentation as the technology permitted students to create a screencast but does not support feedback, commenting, or collaboration digitally. The ability to upload to an account to share publicly, privately with premium account, was not utilized in my class due to privacy concerns. If posted, there is an option to "like" but lacks in text input.

ShowMe how to _______________ (fill in the blank)
This is a great tool for reinforcement of skills or for creating tutorials. Some videos may be as short as 2 minutes or as long as 20, it is up to the students. I also have found that students have understood concepts better when students explained them than when I might have explained them. I also like that it can help students that are shy explain something in private which can be shared publically without having to be in front of the room or standing up.

Great App for Tutorials/Flipping the Classroom!
Overall, the app is easy user-friendly and easy to use. It's a great resource for parents to see how you are teaching a concept to their children. It's great for students because they can watch a tutorial as much (or as little) as need be. I would recommend this app for teachers looking for an app to reinforce a concept learned in the classroom.

Great as a flipped classroom or tutoring tool!
I think this provides a great way to provide examples and support for students and is certainly a useful teaching tool. I find that when a child leaves a math class knowing exactly what they are doing they sometimes are not as confident at home and a Show Me video and can help provide them with a reminder through example problem of the content from a certain day's lesson. I like how you can import pictures because I have put my own tables and pictures to support math problems into Show Me videos and I also like that there are different pen colors to choose from. I purchased an iPad just so that I could download and use the Show Me App because for me, it's much better than other programs that I have tried to create math videos.

Wonderful way to check for student understanding
I find this to be a valuable tool for both the teacher and the learner. I believe that the best way to learn how to do something is to have to teach or explain it to someone else. I do admit it does take some practice to feel comfortable writing and recording, but it is well worth it.

New method to assess students' understanding
This is a new approach to assess students and to integrate technology into the classroom. Using the ShowMe app, helps your students to reflect and show their understanding. The Blooms Taxonomy shows that there is a higher level of retaining knowledge when one teaches or creates. ShowMe allows students to teach and create. The frustration part of screen casting comes when one makes a mistake recording and then the project has to be repeated. If there are uploaded pictures, then starting over can be very time consuming. This is the part of the app I do not like. Dealing with this problem, the app has to be used for informing, unpolished projects.

A free way to explain everything!
This app just keeps getting better, and it's FREE! Although I will usually choose Explain Everything over this app, simply because of Explain Everything's ability to export as a video file, I would highly recommend this app to any teacher. The best part of the app is the library of already created content that you and your students can use. There are thousands of lessons covering the whole scope of the educational curriculum! There are not many downsides to the app other than you can only upload to the ShowMe site when your project is complete. All the other downsides have been fixed with each awesome update!

I like this for "How To" or DIY
My students have really taken a shine to this app for creating "DIY" and "How To" presentations. I love that they can walk through the demo and see what they have done and edit on the go. It's a great tool for them to gain understanding because they are trying to create an explanation for someone else.
