My Take
I wouldn't use this app as a teaching tool, but it is great for exposure to the states - mainly their shapes and sizes. My students love the game aspect of stacking the states. Just today we had a discussion about state sizes when one of them asked if they could resize the states! Great learning opportunity!
How I Use It
As mentioned, I don't use this for a teaching tool. However, my third & fourth graders often have very minimal knowledge of the states. I think it is a fun way to get them learning about the states - even recognizing their shapes is a fun step!

A Fun Way to Review States!
Overall, Stack the States is an excellent tool for fun and review in the classroom! Although it does not extended learning, it helps students solidify their knowledge about the states. I think students would love to be able to play this game if they finished their work early or had moments of free time throughout the day. by having resources such as Stack the States, teachers can make sure every moment at school is utilized to the fullest!

Engineering and geography skills all in one
This is one of my favorite states/capitals apps. it allows my student a visual representation of where the states and capitals are in a fun and engaging way so seems current to them. This relevance is important to our students and gives credibility to what I am introducing them to in the classroom. That being said, do not expect any depth from this app. You will need to provide the deeper knowledge, but the app takes care front loading for you.
