My Take
Puppet Pals is a great free app, but is also one of the best paid apps you could purchase. For a small fee, buy the directors package and unlock all the characters as well as the option to add your own photos. Retell stories, create imaginative plays, produce travel journals, and more. Younger students enjoy playing and exploring with pre-made characters. Older students are able to add their own photos for backgrounds and characters. Re-enact historical scenes, create book trailers, and more!The puppet shows created are only limited by your creativity and imagination.
How I Use It
Our younger students have used Puppet Pals to share travel adventures - inserting photos from their trip and giving puppet tours of landmarks or highlights along the way. Older elementary students use Puppet Pals to practice oral reading, spoken word poetry, or even a foreign language. In Spanish class, students record themselves speaking in order to practice pronunciation and conversational interactions.
