My Take
I can not express how impressed I am with the tools and informational resources available on the this site. Teachers and students alike are offered the unique opportunity to combine educational standards of the content area to current, relevant situations in the lives of the students attending our schools. The website is easy to navigate and is a wonderful free resource for all teaches of all grades.
How I Use It
This website offers a periodical that is published three times a year offering educational tools as well as pedagogical articles discussing civil issues in the classroom. Teachers can use these articles to connect to common themes within their curriculum to spark discussion and creation in the classroom. I have used the the film kits in my suspended curriculum at the beginning of the school year in conjunction to digital citizenship topics. The site also offers scaffolding and differentiated instruction techniques per lesson/ topic to help teachers deliver complex ideas.
