My Take

Overall, Gimkit seems to be a lean application focused on quick setup of flashcard games utilizing the game-related features of the site. If you are looking for a fun way to mix up flash card review for students, this works well. If used too often, the novelty would likely wear off and the interactive features would be less appreciated.

How I Use It

Gimkit relates well to my middle school students given its highly gamified nature, and the fact that its format still resembles other applications like Quizizz and Quizlet. Furthermore, creating and editing sets of flashcards is easy within the application, and can also be done through importing sets from sites such as Quizlet. I would recommend this be used with a larger set of words, and as a practice activity towards the end of a unit for a fun review. This could serve as independent review as well, but the game-related features make this application fun in a whole class setting.
