Students can't get flocabulary raps out of their head, they will beg to hear them again and again. This is a great tool for memorization and to use as a model for students when they choose to write their own raps to show their learning.
Community Review for Flocabulary
My Take
My students love to listen to vocabulary raps when building background knowledge or vocabulary level skills. My sixth and seventh graders from two years ago can still sing the "story elements" rap by heart because they enjoyed listening to it so much. I would play the songs as students entered class to review, during a lesson, and sometimes even at the end of class ( they would ask for it ) Very catchy and engaging
How I Use It
I use flocabulary to introduce or reinforce newly introduced topics, mostly in ELA. I give students multiple chances to hear the songs so that they get stuck in their heads and they can reference the songs when needed. I give student's access to the link so they can use it for homework help or review. I love flocabulary but the price is too high for my school to purchase. There are many free songs that are applicable to many curriculums.
