Amazing Resource!
Community Review for Elementari
My Take
I'm super impressed with the ease of getting students started on projects. Having the directions available in each lesson allows students to work at their own pace. Those who have more accelerated skills can easily step up the complexity of their projects with little teacher guidance. The direct correlation to ELA standards and skills makes this an easy addition to our supplemental resources for students. I have even begun using this with a small group of gifted and talented students who are looking for ways to challenge themselves in literacy. This has been a great place for us to start.
How I Use It
Ms. Li joined our students grades 1-5 for an engaging exploration of Elementari as a virtual school field trip. Her personal story and successes was especially appealing to our students who participate in Girls Who Code. We love opportunities to connect with women in technology. All students were excited to interact and learn about this resource as a way to learning more about coding and making personal projects as they learn. After our field trip, 5th grade students started two more projects one with their classroom teachers and one in our library tech time. Third and fourth grade students have also continued taking on projects to share information about themselves.
