A highly engaged tool to get students to take ownership of their learning.
Community Review for ChatterPix Kids
My Take
This is a great tool for student engagement and to get students to take ownership in their learning. Anytime students know their classmates are going to see their work, it seems they take more ownership in what they learn/create. Posting the Chatterpix on a class website is a fun way for students to learn about the presidents of the United States being taught by their classmates.
How I Use It
Students can use Chatterpix as tool to teach their classmates. You can use Chatterpix by taking a unit a study and assign a topic to a student or a small group of students (2-3). For example, if you are studying the presidents of the United States you can assign a president to each student or group. Their responsibility is to research that president and a create a 30 second script about the biography of that President. Then the students will find a picture of the president and record their biography of their president. This ties the picture of the president to their recording of the biography in Chatterpix. Once all groups are finished, the teacher can share each group’s videos with the class where they will learn about the other presidents.
