Great way to break down history into manageable pieces at the elementary level!!
One of the best things about using Adobe Spark was that I was the person who ensured that the SOL content was covered correctly, that informational connections were being made, that the length of the presentation was on target, and that the content was appropriate for my students.
And finally...my students were utterly engaged!

Photography/ Art Educator
I think this is an innovative way of teaching, that makes kids think outside the box. I love that it is super simple to use, customizable, and that you can really teach students a lot about videography leading up to using this app. It lets kids get up and moving, and creating! I do think that in some ways this can be hard because it will take multiple class periods, and will take time to get great results from students.

Adobe Spark updates facilitate free & SAFE access!
I deeply value tools that can be used across content areas with easy initial setup for teachers. Managing these accounts with Adobe Creative Cloud took some time to set up, and logging in to our Enterprise IDs seems to have room for some improvement, but the capabilities of the tool itself provide extensive instructional value. Students can easily import and upload videos, adding captions and titles intuitively. Students select photos from a database of free-to-use images, or can easily upload their own. Adobe's recent integration of the Noun Project icons has allowed us to go even further when building infographics, eliminating the need to learn a different tool with premium options. Spark's one page websites have been a perfect way for students to publish work, which we then embed into websites and across other apps to share widely. Spark is easy to use and friendly for kids, yet brings a level of sophistication that is sure to improve the output of any user. Students take pride in the work they create with Adobe Spark, and the focused opportunities to add colors and graphics ensures a high-quality outcome every single time.

Model Being a Creative Communicator Using Adobe Spark
Like so many tools available to us as educators, Adobe Spark may seem a bit daunting the first time you use it. Once you select the type of project you want to create (Post, Page, or Video), you are directed to a template that will guide you in creating the product. You will find prompts to guide your text and dozens of suggested themes. If you are like me, you may spend a little extra time clicking through options and playing with design. On the other hand, our students will appreciate being able to clear the slate and start with an empty canvas that they can personalize.
Since most of the schools I work with are Google Apps for Education, students and teachers can get started by logging in with their GAFE account. If your school is using the Adobe Suite and students have existing accounts, those can be used instead. Since Adobe Spark is on the cloud, the one login works across all devices and browsers. In schools without 1:1, this means students aren't tethered to the computer lab.
One of the biggest advantages of Adobe Spark is that is compatible with most devices including Chromebooks (love BYOD-friendly tools). The only conflict is that it is not currently in the Google Apps Store (sorry Android phone/tablet users). iOS users can download the suite of apps (Post, Page, and Video).
To answer all your user start-up questions, check out the Guide for Educators and Schools.

The One Stop Shop for Student Voice and Choice
This is the tool I have been waiting for. As a Technology Coach, this is the perfect recommendation for a teacher to seamlessly incorporate student voice and choice in their classroom because it provides the 3 main features students can use to be creators across any content area. Student products can be shared via social media, weblink, or downloaded, three very important options. They seem to have built the site with students and educators in mind, especially with some of their privacy features mentioned above. They even have an educator's guide for use linked on their site. The best part of all is that this is free! According to their site; "Adobe Spark is free to use, and will remain so. At some point in the future we may add premium features or paid options. If that were to happen, the core functionality as it exists today will remain free. No bait-and-switch, we promise." This is HUGE!
