Awesome interactive document annotation tool. So many uses in class!
I think its a great tool, it has been a life saver for my school during 2020. I like it because it actually facilitates collaboration and real time feedback, students like it because it is an engaging platform. Besides that, they have a great support team, specially useful when a school is trying to implement new educational technologies.

Favorite Paperless Tool!
I was part of the district team that evaluated this software and I was so impressed. We are a Google Apps for Education district and it integrates seamlessly with that Learning Management System. I can grade papers using all the Kami tools without having to leave the Google grading window. Students love the ease with which they can manipulate activity sheets or create their own documents without having to deal with paper and pen. Even though younger kids can use this program I would say it is better used with grades 3 and up. I find using it with the tablet easier than an iPad, although it can be used with an iPad. I have used it from digital Sketchnoting to high order read and respond and love it. If you are looking to go paperless this is HANDS DOWN the tool for you. We have also found the support team and the Kami Facebook group great "go to" areas with questions...which I think is super important so four ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for straight up customer service. I think they offer a 30 day free trial, which can be extended if you want to do a pilot program like our district did.

Great web PDF annotation tool
Kami is a very helpful tool in our laptop project. Thanks to Kami and Google classroom many tasks and tests are made completely digitally. So we have a major reduction in printing costs thanks to Kami. Also the text te speech feature is a very useful tool for students with dyslexia.
Our math teachers would like to have extra features in Kami, for instance drawing tools, a geo triangle, ...

Kami-Quick and easy!
Even though my students don't care for the program, I continue to use it because I find it to be an easy way for me to organize and access student work. It definitely helps when I want to share a piece of writing, on my smart board, and annotate over it. I think there could be an easier menu. My students are generally pretty tech savvy, and they sometimes even struggle with the menu options. (particularly when saving their work.)

Great tool for using less paper
I like Kami and will continue to use it in my classroom. I really appreciate having the ability to take the PDFs provided with my school curriculum and transform them into interactive documents for my students. I will probably use the text and highlighting tools most. The drawing tools were fun, but proved to be a distraction.
The kids enjoyed working in Kami as well. One student said, " I wish we could do this in every class."
I do feel like the turn in and distribution are not as seamless as I would like, even with Schoology. But once students are in the Kami program, it works great. If you have computers that switch between computer-mode and tablet-mode, computer-mode works best. I also think some of the tools, especially the one for drawing, work best on a touch screen device.

Necessary Tool When Going 1:1 Chromebooks
Kami is an essential tool when working with PDFs in th classroom. Schools going 1:1 with Chromebooks should invest in the pro version which provides students with all the tools available, Google Classroom Integration, and makes the information shared COPPA, SOPIPA, and FERPA Compliant. While this tool can easily be viewed as a worksheet replacement the reality is proper introduction and training can show teachers and students the power it has with Auto OCR, collaboartion via Google Drive, and the ability to annote on text and images. Teachers can connec to the projectors and interactve boards to model best practices while students can use this tool to work towards becoming a paperless classroom.
