Easy way to check-in with the students on if they are getting the content. Whether the competition happens on their phones, Chromebooks or desktop computers, the kids are hooked in immediately. Very enjoyable experience.
I like Kahoot because it engages the students in a competitive way that is still fun. It lightens up the classroom because everyone is excited for the next question, so class distractions drop. Using it too much can take the excitement away, so I like to use it once in a unit.

Great competition that also involves learning
I truly love Kahoot!, this game allows for whole class or even small group participation. In addition, there are many Kahoots already made, so usually can find one already done for you. On the flip side of that, it is incredible easy to create a Kahoot. You can use pictures, graphs, and as many answers as you'd like. It is not for higher level questions, but it is quick and easy way to analyze just where exactly your kids are with the material.

Kahoot is a hoot! Easy to develop and fun to play, students will love engaging with this online quiz game!
I love a lot of things about Kahoot. What I love the most is how engaging it is for students. They always get excited about it. When I'm not using it, they want to know when we'll be doing it again! It plays into their natural competitive sense as well as their love of technology and alternative learning activities. Kahoot is also very simple to use. When time is short (When isn't it?) pre-made Kahoots can often be found to meet a teacher's needs. Even if you prefer to create your own Kahoot (I usually do), it doesn't take long (approximately 15 minutes). This ability to create exactly what I need in a short amount of time is extremely valuable. Another great feature of Kahoot is its ability to generate reports which allow you to conduct an error analysis by question and/or student. This provides formative assessment data to drive future instruction.
One glaring limitation of Kahoot is the fact that its questioning format is solely selected-response. This obviously does not allow for students to construct their own responses to articulate their thinking. The teacher can still develop higher level thinking questions, but the response format still comes down to selected response. Another, albeit minor, limitation is the fact that some students can be turned off by the competitive format. Kahoot does not provide for differentiation in a whole group setting, such as extended time to respond, or reading questions/answers aloud as needed. I've seen students get frustrated and quit because of the pressure of the timer and the cumulative effects of missed answers. This can be negated somewhat by turning off the "podium" display or using Kahoot in a small group setting with differentiated questions, answers, and time allocations (although this could also mean creating multiple versions of the same Kahoot).
Overall, I recommend Kahoot as an engaging and easy-to-use classroom tool for testing students' knowledge in a fun way.

Kahoot! Create, Compete, Contemplate, Congratulate! A tool for students to engage in healthy competition as they review or evaluate their content knowledge.
I like Kahoot. My students like Kahoot. I like how engaged my students are, and how enthusiastic they are about using this tool. This tool is easy to use and does not take long to learn. The studio feature is a great resource when time is limited. The only thing I don’t like about this online resource is that it is not very versatile. There are many topics that can be evaluated effectively, but it does have its pedagogical limitations. It can feel like a superficial content quiz. It does not build a deeper understanding of concepts or allow students to extend their learning or make meaningful connections. It would be beneficial if there was a way for students to receive feedback when questions are answered incorrectly. It would also be meaningful if there were scenarios attached to questions that students could discuss and make connections to other content or skills.

Students of all ages have fun and learn while playing Kahoot!
The only constructive critique of app is that the color of the answer to the each question can be memorized ... even if the questions are in different order. The students could just rote memorize the color to the answer. One student suggestion was for maybe the color of the answer be changed each game or every now and then to keep it fresh and so student would not be able to just rote memorize but to truly understand the subject.

Fun, interactive game-based assessment for all grade levels!
This is a wonderful alternative to paper and pencil quizzes. The students have fun with it and are very engaged. Seeing that my students all have iPads, this is a great way to put them to use! Students actually look forward to quizzes when done on Kahoot! I like that their are pre-made templetes/quizzes and the fact that teachers can share their creations. It is very user friendly and easy for both teacher and student. The only room for improvement that I can think of is the records/grading system. I've used Plicker in the past and they have a much better recording/grade book system.

Great fun in class and almost easy to use for students who are blind/VI
Overall, Kahoot is a great way to keep the class engaged and actively participating in their learning. The ranking system inspires friendly competition among students and spurs them to succeed. I have seen Kahoot executed wonderfully in literature, math, science, and social studies classes and students seem to look forward to a class that starts with "Open your devices to Kahoot!" In a regular classroom, Kahoot is great fun.
I teach the blind and visually impaired at the high school level and strive to keep my students as connected as their peers when it comes to technology. Kahoot is one of the apps that we have had some success with when using the correct technology. I have tried Kahoot using a Chromebook with screen reader enabled and an iPhone/iPad with VoiceOver turned on. Using the Chromebook, navigation to questions can be tricky since the answer choices are only labeled Answer 1, 2, etc. and present in a grid. On the iPhone, swiping works better to choose answers more efficiently. For my students with low vision, the large answer buttons and shapes make choosing an answer easy and not based on color or size of the icon. Where Kahoot falls short for my kiddos without vision is in the question presentation and flow of the actual game. None of the questions are read aloud unless questions contain a video and there are no audio cues to clue students the next question is loading. Answer choices are also not labeled on individual devices so a reader has to say the answers in order for a student to select the correct answer. However, with a skilled reader and a student proficient in VoiceOver/ChromeVox, these shake out as minor inconveniences stacked against similar platforms. After a few practices, my students are just as eager to join a Kahoot game as the rest of the class.

This is an excellent educational game for any subject. Kids must have their own devices to participate, but it's great for 1 to 1 schools.
My overall opinion is that Kahoot is an excellent educational tool and can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used for review purposes, incentives, and students can even create their own Kahoots to demonstrate material that they learned. It can be used for remediation or extension activities. Really the list is endless for educational uses with Kahoot.

Kahoot! is a Win Win - Student Engagement and Informative Data
I think Kahoot! is an excellent teaching tool. My students are always eager to use Kahoot! and often request it. Kahoot! is engaging and provides valuable assessment data, creation opportunities and a fun way to review learned information. There are some differences between the website and the app that users need to work around. Hopefully, Kahoot! will be able to provide the same features in the app and website. Overall Kahoot! is worth trying.
