My Take

This is a wonderful alternative to paper and pencil quizzes. The students have fun with it and are very engaged. Seeing that my students all have iPads, this is a great way to put them to use! Students actually look forward to quizzes when done on Kahoot! I like that their are pre-made templetes/quizzes and the fact that teachers can share their creations. It is very user friendly and easy for both teacher and student. The only room for improvement that I can think of is the records/grading system. I've used Plicker in the past and they have a much better recording/grade book system.

How I Use It

I use Kahoot in a 3rd grade classroom and the students love it! Our district is now 1:1, so all students have an iPad or Chrome book. My students have iPads and it was very easy to get started with Kahoot. I made an account for myself and created questions. There are also pre-made quizzes to pick from! The students simply enter a quiz code that I display on my promethean board. There will be a page for the students to enter their name and then we are ready to begin. The students love the competition aspect of Kahoot and try to get a spot on the leader board. I like that you can adjust how much time the students have to answer the questions. For a lower grade level, it is nice to extend the time. There is also options to add/change pictures to help students that are more visual learners. We love Kahoot!
