Awesome app to destroy boring reports!!
This is a great tool to use across the curriculum. The students quickly picked up how to use this app. However, teaching how to use this app correctly is the key to success or failure. This will cause the initial use to be a little longer than desired, but the it is worth the time spent doing so.

Simple way to create videos in a short time
This app is very easy to use and students can quickly put together a video with ease. Students are more comfortable with talking in front of a camera instead of the whole class.

iMovie Allows All Students to Create Slick-looking Projects
The app is so easy to use, all of my students were able to create polished-looking projects with minimal guidance. My only complaint is that, as far as I know, it can't be used on non-Apple computers.

Watch out Steven Spielberg!
This app allows for tremendous creativity. Students can incorporate music and special effects. I would like to see more options with titles and transitions. I wouldn't expect this app to be as versatile as the desktop version, but I wish there was a little more. Students still really enjoy using it. The students are quick to learn the features as well as share what they have learned with the classmates and families. Uploading our videos to Google Drive has also allowed us to share them with more people.

Great way to enhance any lesson with technology.
I believe iMovie is a great resource to enhance most lesson. I like that iMovie can be used, like I did, to enhance a lesson or project and can used to as a project. The app is a great app that students can use to make movies to help explain information to their peers. Most students are prideful about their work and are excited to share it with others. It takes away an element of the shyness where the video can replace a live presentation and give students a better since of creativity behind a camera. However, iMovie can be difficult to understand by first time users and may need a crash course in order to understand the information. iMovie is a great tool that could enhance most lessons.

An easy way to bring book trailers into the classroom at any grade!
This is one of my favorite teaching tools. Instead of waiting until May, I wish I had used it earlier in the year with my 1st graders since they loved it and were pretty confident with it towards the end. I started our first trailers in 4th grade in October and they just took it and ran with it with minimal support. I know we will be coming back to visit book trailers in iMovie throughout the year. Aside from the level of engagement and ease of use, I love how there is such small boxes in Trailer to type text. This really stops and makes my students think about only including a few words of text, while still keeping the viewer interested and engaged. I also love hearing the conversations in student planning. Kids take this photos and videos seriously and much debate goes into the best angle, shot, etc. The only thing I wish iMovie had was it's own printable template for planning purposes. There are some templates out there that I have found through a Google search. However, I would love it if a printable storyboard that reflected the actual trailer layout would be accessible through iMovie.

Easy way to edit basic videos.
Perfect for middle school students or a beginning level introductory class. imovie takes the decision out of the hands of the students to make the project easy to complete and also forces many projects to be very similar. I did enjoy the very little setup time that was needed and the resources available online for students to help them expand their knowledge of the app.
