Endless Potential for Unlocking Creativity
Community Review for iMovie
My Take
iMovie is one of the most versatile teaching tools I've used. It can be used in almost any content area for a multitude of purposes. It's ease of use and flexibility make iMovie one of my favorite technology tools of all time.
How I Use It
iMovie is a fantastic tool for unlocking the creative genius in any student. It's easy to navigate and Apple has a plethora of tutorial videos and support guides to assist in learning the tool. These generally aren't needed, however, until the user gets to higher levels of editing and production. The students I've worked on iMovie with have found it to be very intuitive. Our students have used it to create documentary videos, public service announcements, original shorts, animated skits, tutorial videos, and so much more. iMovie has allowed our students to create professional looking videos with minimal need for support related to technology. One of my favorite features of iMovie is trailer creation. My students have used this feature to create fictional movie trailers for literature we've studied in class, often with phenomenal results.
