Bio
I am the Instructor for the Law & Public Safety Academy. The Law & Public Safety Academy is a program at Cabell County Career Technology Center that prepares high school students for a career in the Public Safety Field. It is a program that blends the curriculum of core academic courses with the career and technical education courses of law enforcement. In the Academy, the students will identify the links between the law enforcement-related courses and the academic content, therefore increasing career knowledge and retention. The Academy students usually attend these classes together as a group. It incorporates academics, such as Forensic science and Forensic math so that students can make a connection to real world problems in the academic setting. I teach the CTE portion of the academy and work closely with the Math and Science Instructors. I have a Bachelor & Master of Science degrees in the field of Criminal Justice and I have previous work experience as a 911 public safety telecommunicator (dispatcher). I am originally from Emporia, VA and relocated to Huntington, WV. I am married and have 2 spoiled Chihuahuas.
