Communicate with students and parents quickly and easily!
As a teaching tool, Remind101 primarily serves as a way of communicating easily and quickly with students and parents. A potential way of making this more of a two-way communication tool would be allowing students and parents to reply back to the Remind101 number. However, overall, I do love this tool, and I think the premise behind it is great.

A great way to differentiate and gamify teaching & learning!
Overall, this is a fun, safe way to increase and maintain engagement with the classroom content and conversation. Sometimes I do wish I had more than 140 characters worth of space!

Perfect way to remind students of assignments and upcoming events.
Excellent way to communicate to students via texting without giving out your cell phone number. The app creates a special number and students cannot respond back. Because it is a text sent to their phones, they get the messages almost immediately. Students sign up by texting a specific code to a number created by the app. They are automatically signed up. You can create as many different groups as you'd like for each class, or organization. It is then amazingly easy to send out a mass text message to the group. I love this app for its ease of use and the power it gives to remind my students. No more excuses about not knowing when as assignment was due, or not knowing the test was today!

The best way that I have found to remind students, athletes, and myself of what needs to get done.
This product is outstanding! I use it frequently to remind my students of important due dates and deadlines. In addition to this, I use it to make announcements to the football players that I coach. I even created a class that I am the only member of so that I can send myself reminder texts. The absolute best part of this service is that I can compose a text at 11:00 PM and schedule it to be sent at 9:30 AM the next day. This really is a useful site!

A great tool for reminding students and parents about upcoming events/homework
I can contact either a whole class or individual students/parents. The best part is that I don't have to give out my own personal cell phone number, yet I can still contact each person individually. Most of my special needs students have organizational or memory issues and through this app I am able to give that much-needed extra support to each of them.

Reminders in the palm of their hands
I think that overall this product is excellent. Something that could be viewed as a pro or a con is that the student/parent can not reply to your reminders. Also, you are not able to remind one person of something. The minimum reminder you can send out is to three people. It would be nice to remind Johnny individually to bring in his late essay; although I understand why the app doesn't allow individual reminders.

Great way to remind students about anything at any time.
I've only used Remind 101 for one year and had some difficulty with getting all of my students to enroll in the program. Next year I might make it more mandatory just so everyone benefits from it which would give me more incentive to use it more often. It's great that it allows me to text all of my students while keeping my phone number private, but students did complain that they wished there was someway they could respond back to me if they had questions since it is only one way communications from me to them.

Added bonus... keeps parents informed too!
Students mentioned that they love having links sent right to their phones so that they don't have to a website to find info I want them to see.
