Great alternative to basic flashcards!
I enjoy using Quizlet in class. It does work well and support the Spanish language. Students can not only see the word/translation but they can hear the word and see the picture if added.

Way to tackle word wall words
I love the quiz option, and students like that they can retake to achieve high scores. If it is done outside of class, however, they quickly figure out how to cheat, i.e. get a high score the first time around. This defeats the objective of memorizing the vocabulary.

Vocabulary fun!
I use this very often to have students practice science terms and definitions, which is especially helpful with new terminology.
For a $25 annual fee, class progress, voice recording, and image uploading are options and would be useful for students at lower levels, just learning how to read.
Students enjoy the games.

Great vocab tool to help kids study vocabulary words.
I really like the tool to help kids understand and review vocabulary. It's easy to use, and the kids will actually look at it more than they will a piece of paper with vocab words and definitions.

Great for vocabulary development.
There needs to be a teacher mode that allows a teacher to build a class that has restrictions and some control as to what students see for images. However, embedding completed flashcards into a web site is a handy component that allows for control from the teacher perspective.

Very useful pronunciation feature for supported World Languages
Flashcards for the digital age. Still an effective tool for language learning, with an invaluable pronunciation feature. This app almost never glitches. Its consistent reliability is a major plus. It would benefit from expanded options for learning the set terms.

Easy way to create online quizzes and quiz games for (or by) students
Quizlet is an easy to use, quick to set up tool for teachers. I used it to have students review chemical elements and types of chemical reactions. It only took me about 15 minutes to set up the quiz and students were able to use it the next day. Students can not only use the flash cards that are created online - but there are games that are created that keep the students more engaged. There are also hundreds of ready-made quizzes on the site for you to use.

Wonderful for drilling vocabulary and definitions. Digitized flashcards, games, and more!
I like Quizlet. My students enjoy it and will even tell me that they went home and pulled up the site to review. I like that it provides digital flashcards of vocabulary, spelling practice, a typing game, a drag-and-drop game, and a test that can be customized. Quizlet works well in a language classroom because of the repetition of vocabulary and the audio options that allow students to hear the pronunciation. However, it can easily be used in other subjects to practice terms and definitions. Lists are easy to make and can be borrowed and tweaked from other users. The risk of Quizlet is that sometimes there are mistakes in spelling or errors within a "set". Better verification of the content would help, but a teacher can easily scan a list and if changes are needed he/she can copy and edit the set. Overall it is incredibly useful and a great way to have vocab available in a digital way for students.
