I think its a great way of motivating students and maintaining ongoing feedback with parents. I like that I can give feedback, both positive and negative with both minimal effort and minimal time. It takes less time to quickly note one child's effort or another's distraction than taking notes on the board or in my notes. It is also adaptable enough for me to add participation in optional or required assignments outside the classroom. Being able to project it on a screen also makes sure that students are aware of their own actions.

I know that it says K-6 but I use ClassDojo with my 10th graders! They love it and their parents love the weekly reports. I love it because of the flexibility of the app and browser use, how quick and easy it is to setup a class and add/delete students, that I can modify the behaviors I track in my classroom... so many things! ClassDojo is a great tool for teaching students about making positive behavior choices in the classroom. The ClassDojo team is great at troubleshooting issues and adding new features based upon teacher feedback. It is my second year using Dojo and won't be my last!

Great for helping correct and modify students behaviors and keep track on incentives

I like that I can use this app while teaching to immediately hold students accountable for their behavior and attendance. One of my favorite features is the ability to add notes that go directly to parents if they also have the app. I also appreciate the ability to go back through the entire school year to track behavior patterns.

ClassDojo has been a great tool for me to use in the computer lab to motivate students toward better behavior. My students have been extremely motivated to earn points, and eagerly watch their point totals climb on the smart board. Although this tool is not educational per se, through better classroom management I have been able to accomplish more during my classes.

More of a classroom management tool than a learning tool, this app/website has helped me in every classroom I've taught in! I like this product because of the app and website connection. Each student gets their own login, which allows parents AND students to see what they're doing in the classroom. Students of ALL ages are able to use this and be motivated to do well.

I was delighted to be introduced to the website during a professional development session. It is a great way to engage students in classroom management and to communicate with parents. That was important.

ClassDojo is definitely a teaching tool that I use in my classroom, but not in the standard sense of the word. I often try to correlate active class participation and preparation with better test scores and comprehension of content material, and from that perspective, ClassDojo definitely helps me do this easily. I like that students can immediately see their participation and behavior numbers for the day or week on the "student" side of the application. I also like that I can set up whatever categories I want, which allows me to monitor multiple things all at once depending on what my class goals are! I can also quickly see which students are not routinely participating or are having discipline issues so that I can remedy those situations. I would like to see the format for class viewing (which is currently quite large, even when you make the icons smaller) in more of a list structure so that I could click on names even more easily. My students would also benefit from the ability to set their own goals within this program and to get some kind of digital badge for acquiring a certain amount of participation points (like badges of accomplishments or something like that). Overall, I really like this program though!

Class Dojo is easy to set up, keeps the records for you, parents can access at any time. I had the good fortune to speak to a team from Class Dojo in a Google Hangout a few months ago and was impressed by the thoroughness of their questions about how their program is used in the classroom and how it can be improved. I'm excited to see that they have just now added many new features, including the ability to broadcast messages to all parents, groups of parents, or individual parents. What a time saver, and what a fabulous communication tool! My only small complaint is that if you are adding in feedback for students on an individual basis there is about a 4 second load time, which actually feels a bit slow. You'll see what I mean!

This is a great way to manage your classroom and for students to keep track of their behavior. The most time-consuming part is putting students' names in to get started, especially if you teach several classes like I do. But, it is easy to use once you are done setting up your class(es).
