Awesome app that allows for outside classroom insight!
This product serves as a wonderful teaching tool. It provides videos on special topics that help engage students and provide additional information. The information contributes nicely to classroom lectures and allows students to see what they are learning in action. I think it serves my teaching better because as a homeschool instructor, it can help provide specialized information on a topic that I'm not an expert on. Each video is almost like a mini presentation by an expert, and it's informative to include these in classroom time. I imagine the students feel a connection to these videos as I did to Bill Nye the Science Guy videos when I was their age!

Realistic, Entertaining, Math Videos
My take on Ted-Ed is that it is a great way for the students to take what they are learning in math class and further their knowledge of that topic. This is something I will continue to use in my class. A Ted-Ed video is a great tool for STEAM classrooms. I like that Ted-Ed takes math topics I use in my classroom and shows how they can be used in real life situations. Ted-Ed could serve my students and myself better by coming up with real life math videos about more advanced topics. My students love seeing how the topics we are learning in class change our everyday lives. Overall, this is a good website for introducing topics or showing how math topics are used in the real world.

TED Ed bridges the gap between content and application for many students.
I think this product does a great job of allowing students to see a variety of real world applications of concepts that we talk about in the classroom. Having the opportunity to use this videos in conjunction with discussion questions is one of the keys of this website. Students are able to not only see material explained by a different voice (or voices), but they are given different ways to engage with the material that we may not have directly touched on in class.

I love to use these and supplements to my science lessons. They are in cartoon format, so the kids are interested. They are short, around 5 minutes, and engaging.

Irony Not Lost on Students Learning Irony
I used the two videos on irony (verbal versus situational) to introduce the concept to my seventh grade students. The animated explanations were engaging and humorous. I had to explain sarcasm with more relevant examples than in the video, but they recognized the difference afterwards. I like it best for activating prior knowledge or as a quick introduction to a new concept.
