Raz-Kids a great learning tool
I Iike it a lot they are able to build their own world as they get points, and they are able to have questions answered about the content. If I could change one thing it's the fact that in the free version I have yet to see a way that I can check the student's progress, and see what they are struggling on.

Let's Get Kids Reading
I think this is a great outside of the classroom tool for teacher. A great way to ensure students are reading at home is to use products such as this. I think there can be update to the texts offered to make them a little more interesting but other than that I think this is a great tool that is rather beneficial.

Reading is Fun!
My opinion is that this tool can be used for any classroom. It is perfect because every child is at a different level of reading so this tool allows them to be comfortable with where they are at and do not have to worry about feeling behind. When it comes to reading, it can be frustrating. By having students use this tool, it works at their own pace. They are only recommended books that will be at their level based on their comprehension results from the mini quizzes.

Great for All Readers!
I liked how the words read out loud were highlighted as they were said. This helps the student to read along instead of just listening. I did not like how students could choose themselves if they wanted the text read out loud. Sometimes, I would not want my students to have that option because I would want them to read it for themselves.

It's ok but definitely could use some work!
Raz Kids is ok but could use improvement. For regular stories, the students should be required to listen to the story first. For flight checks, there isn't even an option to listen to the story. There is no feedback for the students, telling them which words they pronounced incorrectly or how to pronounce them correctly the next time they run across that word. The grading for retell should be tailored better to each story. Sometimes there are not options for things that should be graded. When you click on a word that is pronounced incorrectly or substituted, etc... (while grading their reading), it goes back almost a full sentence when you are done. It should just pick up where you left off.

Great for use with my lower readers!
My lower readers benefit from this app because of the read to feature. It allows them to follow along and read aloud with it. It provides assistance with words they would normally struggle. It gives them a sense of independence.

Highly motivating resource for students to practice reading!
I love using Raz-Kids with my students. It is engaging and offers both online and mobile access (Android, Apple). When students log in using their own personal log in card, they are brought to an interactive portal that I have already set up to be on their instructional reading level. With each story, students can have the story be read to them, they can read themselves, and they can record themselves reading. This is a great way to differentiate the reading based on student need. After the story has been read and the student feels comfortable, they can take a corresponding quiz that checks their comprehension. Teachers can use this information to make instructional goals for the students and determine the next steps. When a student has read 10+ stories and passed the quizzes, they advance to the next reading level. To help with student engagement, Raz-Kids uses a star point system. Each time they listen to a book, read a book, pass a quiz, earn a perfect score on quiz, etc. they earn various amounts of points and can use those points to "buy" fun things for their robot. With my particular group of students, they are currently reading about two grades below the benchmark. When I tell them that we are working with Raz-Kids, they get excited because it allows them to use the computer, they get competitive between each other about how many star points they have earned, and they are comfortable reading materials that are on their level. I highly recommend it!

Great ELA digital tool!
I really enjoy incorporating this teaching tool into my classroom. I like that it allows students to record their record their readings for me to assess at a later time and for students to hear their own Voice while reading.I also like the quizzes at the end of each text and the report that it generates for teacher data. The SAMR level for this application would fall within the augmentation as it allows students to interact with the text with recordings and visuals along with activities and quizzes at the end of each reading. This app could be pushed up the SAMR level by enabling a feature that allows students to write , highlight, underline, etc with the text and to also pose a discussion in which classmates old answer or comment on different levels books students have read.

Plenty of Leveled Books to Practice Reading Comprehension
Raz Kids is an excellent tool for independent practice of reading comprehension skills, such as vocabulary and inference. I like the mix of fiction and non-fiction. I wish there were short answer/single word questions rather than all multiple choice, however, I like that the responses were graded for me and feedback was given to the students instantly.

Good program with a lot of untapped potential.
I like the program, but I wish I could do more with it. I would like to be able to create more individualized quizzes and assignments. The program allows you to give assignments to your students but you have to pick from the list of assignments that it has already created.
