Plenty of Leveled Books to Practice Reading Comprehension
Community Review for Raz-Kids
My Take
Raz Kids is an excellent tool for independent practice of reading comprehension skills, such as vocabulary and inference. I like the mix of fiction and non-fiction. I wish there were short answer/single word questions rather than all multiple choice, however, I like that the responses were graded for me and feedback was given to the students instantly.
How I Use It
Students used Raz Kids several times a week during a dedicated period of time, usually about 15 minutes per session. It was easy to differentiate student reading levels based on in class assessments and I could change those levels as necessary, either backing students up when they were struggling or moving them forward if a level was too easy. Students could read or listen to each book as many times as they wanted and also take the quiz as many times as they wanted. Data was organized in an easy to understand format in the teacher dashboard. There are about 10 books per reading level so plenty of practice.
