Great place to collaborate and provide opportunities to showcase student work.
The website is extremely versatile. Being in a high school classroom and primarily only access to iPads, it becomes a very useful tool and way to create and utilize tech to publish to more audiences. As long as you are providing students with a structure of what the writing should look like, or a type of writing they should accomplish for the wall, students are able to share everything and anything, but structure is key. The walls are extremely secure in the sense that if you are the teacher and creating the wall, students cannot alter or change other students' entries. Students have the ability to move their posts, add posts, delete only their posts, and as creator, you have all control over all the posts that are brought up. The Padlet wall becomes a great way to collaborate for character analysis, and is a great way to share ideas between class periods in process. But it also never goes away, saves automatically, and can be pulled up for future discussions as reference.

Padlet- an easy tool for a blended classroom
I think this is a great tool for teachers to use in flipped classrooms or during blended lessons when they are not directly in front of all of the students at once. This tool allows students the freedom to post messages or store research for follow-up information at a later time. The overall ease of use is especially important for the middle school classroom.

An engaging, collaboration tool that's also great for a quick assessment!
This web-based, virtual bulletin board is very user-friendly and quick to set-up. I was so excited when I learned about this website and thrilled that I would no longer need to use note cards for my "entrance" and "exit" tickets to assess student learning anymore! There are quite a few ways to share the Padlet wall I've created but with my first graders. I've found that the easiest way was for them to scan the QR codes (using the free i-nigma app) and it linked them directly to my Padlet wall and they were ready to respond! The nice thing is that it is flexible to use so you can really adapt it to meet your specific needs as a teacher. The students can post their name along with their response so you can check for their understanding. However, if you have students who are uncomfortable sharing, then you can assign them a number (that only you would know as the teacher) so they can feel free from the pressure that comes with responding in front of a group. Either way, it's a great way for you to assess student learning and to plan your upcoming instruction to fit your classes needs! I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

Padlet can work for primary grades too!
It is a nice website that allows you to have each child type their response and then project it on a virtual bulletin board of sorts. As the owner of the board, you can move the posts around and delete them as well. The posts can be viewed as the little squares or you can double click/tap on them and then scroll through them as well. The board has multiple background options and designs.
Students can post with their name or just their response. It can stay anonymous to help the students produce their own answers without the pressure of being correct or wrong in front of the class. If you have the students put their name on their post, then you can save the board and go back to review it later.
I found it is a nice and way for my first graders to use the iPads as an exit ticket. All they had to do was scan the padlet board with a QR reader and it linked them right to my chosen paddle board. Then they were ready to go. Nice and easy!

A good way to spice up group projects!
I really liked this site. I liked that the kids did not need a user id to be able to add information. It made putting information together really easy. The kids liked being able to see and edit their information. And it was easy to put the URL link out so that the kids could work from home or go back and see their information later. I will use this again in the future! One thing to keep in mind is to keep the kids on "write mode" and not "moderate mode" this way what they post needs to be approved before it is posted to the wall.
Another way to use this tool is to have a couple of moderators for the wall. Only the students who are designated as moderators are able to write on the wall, that way the wall does not get too messy.

Students enjoy collaborating using Padlet and teachers love eliminating the paper!
Overall, I am very pleased with Padlet and glad I found out about this terrific site. The more I use it, the more familiar I become with the site and continue to find numerous ways to utilize in my instruction. This site is extremely easy to use and quick to set up. Padlet is very user friendly and I was amazed at how simple it was to create and edit my walls. One thing I have found challenging about the site is that students must have an email to set up their own account. Without an account students can still view and create walls, but their username won't appear in their posts. I ensure that my students put their name after every post so I know who is writing or posting.

A fun interactive way for students to share their learning!
I love that students can add their thoughts to the board in a fun and simple manner. They can create sticky note like boxes to add information. After each student has added to the board, you can create a slide show!

Digital Cork board!
Padlet is a great resource and can be used in many learning opportunities. It is great for collaboration and a great place to post ideas, questions, concerns, etc. I would caution using it with students, unless you are monitoring the board as they are posting. I would not allow it to be a back channel for students like I would for teachers in a professional training. The students would become distracted with the tool, and may become inappropriate if you are not monitoring their posts. There is an option to approve posts before they are posted, but that defeats the purpose of using it as a collaboration resource. In addition, this is not a stand-alone lesson, it is a lesson enhancer, and should be used as such.
