I haven't met a student yet who didn't love or benefit from Flocabulary.
I was a little bit skeptical of flocabulary until my teenage son came home blasting a video that the found on youtube on his phone. He loved it and often listened to various topics depending on what he was studying at the time. The beats and lyrics help make each song catchy for kids and they really do develop a deeper understanding because when they hear something that they do not know, they "wonder" which leads to further research and questions.

Engaging, informative, appropriate for middle/high school
Flocabulary is my go-to for engaging my students around current events in particular. The Week in Rap is a weekly current events-themed rap that focuses on the top stories in different areas of the news. On the main Flocabulary page, the Flocab team has written raps and provided supplementary lessons on Social Studies, Science, Math, Language Arts, and Vocabulary as well.

A motivational tool for students of all ages.
Flocabulary is a great resource tool for teachers of just about any grade. Flocabulary offers powerful educational information in the form of raps. This immediately connects with students because they see it as something fun. When it connects to the students they're more willing to learn and listen. They'll pick up on information because of the way its being presented to them. Students will be motivated to learn when they hear these songs.

Vocabulary instruction that engages the hard to reach student.
Flocabulary takes vocabulary instruction into the world of Hip-Hop. I really enjoy using this tool in the classroom. Students become interested in the music and learn grade-level vocabulary in a research-based way. I like the way the take the words and present them in so many ways. Students learn about using context, relationships, analogies, non-examples, and root words. They also then take read passages that contain these words and have to show their understanding in many ways.

Flocabulary's Week in Rap is a great spring board into talking about current events
This is a review of Flocabulary's Week in Rap. The other resources seem pretty thorough and more of a complete package.
For the Week In Rap, I like that you can print out the lyrics so that students can refer back to the lyrics in case they miss something or need that written support. It also supports students through pictures and more in depth explanations of the events, people, and places. Students are engaged in video clips--they like the raps and the connections to the real world.
The challenge questions and fill in the blanks aren't really very rigorous, and my students don't really get much out of completing the activities.

Teach music and history at the same time!
I ran through a Flocabulary song to talk to kids about Rosa Parks' story. Not only did they have fun singing and making up lyrics, they also couldn't stop singing it the next day!

A multi-interactive instrument that can be used to differentiate instruction in Writing an Informational summary.
Flocabulary incorporate a popular genre to provide students with a multimedia presentation that student relate to. I liked the vivid presentation of catchy phrases, vocabulary delivery and upbeat music rhyme. Students are quickly drawn to the topic present but sometime ignore important substance because the are too engrossed in the genre.

Students can't get flocabulary raps out of their head, they will beg to hear them again and again. This is a great tool for memorization and to use as a model for students when they choose to write their own raps to show their learning.
My students love to listen to vocabulary raps when building background knowledge or vocabulary level skills. My sixth and seventh graders from two years ago can still sing the "story elements" rap by heart because they enjoyed listening to it so much. I would play the songs as students entered class to review, during a lesson, and sometimes even at the end of class ( they would ask for it ) Very catchy and engaging

Awesome!
The website was great to use for opening up a topic. The songs are catchy, the images are good, and students ask to hear them more than once! Sometimes you'll even hear them reciting songs in the hallway!
