"Ninety-Nine Rhymes"
This is a great resource to build vocabulary. I use it specifically in math. It helps by creating a fun way to help internalize basic math facts and vocabulary. The tunes are catchy and the animation is funny, together it is highly engaging.

Great way to hook students into learning.
Flocabulary is a great website although it does cost money to use it. There are free videos available as well. It is well maintained and is always updating their information (it is Common Core aligned). The videos are full of information and accessible to all the students in my class.

I love using this as a reteach after a unit!
What I really like about the Flocabulary is the fact that the history that is used is accurate. This was not a project that was just thrown together. The songs are good and the vocabulary is pertinent. I have even had some students download the songs on their I-Pods.

Intriguing and motivating videos to teach educational concepts
Looking for a way to get your students’ fingers tapping and heads’ bobbing all while learning relevant educational topics? Flocabulary is guaranteed (well at least from my experience) to grasp your students’ attention and supplement your instruction. Within the website, teachers can explore a wide range of topics, videos, and resources to use with their lessons. In addition, being a website with materials taught through videos, students are able to replay and read the lyrics in order to make sure they understand the content. Altogether, you can use a Flocabulary video in any part of your lesson plan to help focus attention, motivate students, and/or reinforce your lesson.

Great for engaging students and making lessons relevant
Flocabulary offers students a great avenue to interact with content in a new and fun way. This resource provides music videos that cover all areas of content, so almost any teacher could use it. The videos are roughly 2-4 minutes long and actually rap about the chosen topics. I enjoyed the idea that students have a resource that applies to different types of learners: visual, auditory, etc. Flocabulary also offers access to the lyrics for those that like to read and analyze the information. This also helps when students have trouble understanding what some of the songs are discussing.

Engaged Students
Flocabulary is great attention getter for any subject area. Students are engaged and focused on learning the topic at hand. Give it a try! I think the tool is awesome to draw especially those reluctant learners into a topic and hold their interest. Deeper questioning would make this tool the best!

Flocab is an engagement changer for the classroom!
With accompanying lesson plans and varying activities, Flocabulary makes it easier for teachers to introduce, explain, and reinforce various concepts. With all the core areas covered and even a section for "difficult" vocabulary, each video (with transcript provided) makes the learning process fun and memorable. Students like music. So putting the content in lyrical format just seems to work. I do wish some sections remained free and not tied to the subscription - like "The Week in Rap."

So impressed with all of the music videos and worksheets
It's a pretty good website. It does cost a lot, but I think it's worth it for the students to be engaged in learning. I enjoy having the liberty to print out the lyrics, tests, fill in the blank worksheets. It's not just singing and videos. It's completely interactive. The students enjoy this more than brain pop. It's really gets them going and interested to learn what the topic is going to be about.
