Great math remediation tool. Easy to use, document progress, but does not reinforce higher level thinking skills to the extent I would like.

Not a fan of drill and kill apps I was won over by the scope of this program. The ease of set up and use is also a plus. Most of our teachers have become huge fans even the tech shy ones. The students love that they can advance on their own. Our students even go on in the summer!!

I think it's great and I can't wait for them to make it for all of High School.

My students on the Autism spectrum LOVE this app and ask if they can use IXL at least once a week. It is predicable and formatted in an easy to follow way without a lot of clutter. It is pricey, I have a special education small group class, so it was doable.

This is an excellent skill practice tool that provides a differential model to support and enrich student learning. The students are engaged in their learning creating an ownership/challenge to receive the trophy at the end of the skill. That gratification motivates them to move to the next skill. I have had gifted children become frustrated because they were challenged, and I feel this incident provides great insight into IXL.

Students need practice and we throw so much info. on them that it's a good way for the teacher to see just how well the students put into practice all that has been taught.

I found IXL to be a great teaching tool as far as reviewing concepts taught in class and allowing continued practice.

I like the breakdown by skills and the short practice assignments. Students like the immediate feedback and so do I.

I like this program and plan to continue using it next year. It offers the ability to differentiate so that all learners needs can be met regarding appropriate grade level assignments. However, the program does not read the text to students. Therefore, struggling readers or ELL children may have difficulty with independent practice.

IXL is a great tool for use in building fluency skills in mathematics. By having a way to remediate skills where students have been identified as needing work, you can allow students to build up the building blocks needed to be successful in all future mathematical endeavors. The service is a pay to use service, so without district support, it is a very difficult to tool to implement in a practical sense.
