BrainPop is always a trusted source for anything in education!
I really loved this app and how interesting they are able to make a topic for students. The characters keep the students engaged. I am also impressed with how they can brake down topics for students in such a easy and fun way!

Film-strips for the 21st Century! Animated multi-minute clips on all kinds of subjects.
Great introductions to topics with throwbacks to the earlier (for me) days of education including references to film strips, Oregon Trail, and other random items. But the appeal is definitely there for my current students. I teach ELL students and the ability to put sub-titles on is a huge help, as is the supplementary documents that BrainPop offers.
My high school students really enjoy the two characters - a human and robot and I find that their humor really helps my students language development (in areas like sarcasm).

Not for everyone, but definitely very engaging!
The brainpop videos are a great way to engage kids. The content moves a little bit fast for some of my learners, and at times the video could benefit from clearer speech.

fun on the smart board
I use this app on the smart board with a small group of special needs students. It is very easy to follow along and understand. The vocabulary is fairly simple which is perfect for my students. They really seem to enjoy the "beeping" sound that one of the character makes.

Good for intro and review
My overall opinion of this tool is very positive. The students enjoy watching these videos and I like showing them as well. I have used them mostly with 7th and 8th graders. I have also taught an high school class (11th grade) where the students were actually asking if I could show them these videos. :-) These are a cute way to present a topic and they provide many extensions that you can use. My only comment is that sometimes parts of the video are too advanced. These videos are aimed at late elementary and middle school students. Some of the things they mention in the video are concepts that aren't taught until high school. There are times when showing the videos that I have to tell students not to worry about a certain part because we aren't going to be learning about it. I suppose it's good exposure though.

A high-interest multi-sensory interactive app that keeps even my 7th and 8th graders engaged.
The free featured video can be used as a comprehension tool within a reading classroom as well as a way to reinforce concepts learned within the framework of content area curriculum. The subscription is well worth the price paid per school/district, as the multitude of varied interest videos and corresponding activities helps to reinforce curriculum concepts.

More LIKE WOWPOP!!
I have been using BrainPop for Language Arts and Social Studies for many years! The BrainPop interface is easy to use and has many extension lessons that include short informative (and entertaining) clips! Newer BrainPop accounts allow the teacher to monitor and track data as far as the built in quizzes ( which are already made but can be modified)! Love this website and their newer subscription version for schools!

Videos that definitely POP!
I am partial. I have used BrainPop since they began when they did not have enough videos to fill the homepage grid. Tim and Moby are knowledgeable, memorable and funny. Students love watching the videos.
