My Take

Brain Pop is a great tool for differentiating instruction. Complex content is made accessible to learners of all levels. Interactive quizzes and printable materials allow for further instruction and assessment. Some videos are available in Spanish.

How I Use It

I use Brain Pop to in a multitude of ways. I have used it to introduce and review topics. We often complete the quiz as a class, this works as a simple formative assessment that I can use to inform further instruction. Students independently use Brain Pop to further their knowledge of specific topics-- it is a valuable research tool for students looking for outside information for DBQs or research projects. Students who complete class assignments quickly use Brain Pop for enrichment as well. Absent students use Brain Pop to access information. I use the free videos available in Spanish with ELL students.
