Helpful website
My district chose this program but I have enjoyed using it. I have heard that many districts like the program but it is very expensive per student. I'm not sure the cost. Like many things in life, you get what you pay for. I find the teacher side of things very easy to do. As a classroom teacher I don't know the background stuff about setting up classrooms.

Great for practice in workstations but I wish there was more instruction integrated into the lessons.
I consider it to be more of a practice tool than a teaching tool.

Everyday is a Dreambox day
I have used this product for three years now and each year I grow to like it even more. I find out new ways to use this product and watch as students build a better understanding of math while being completely engaged in the game like play of the program!

Good for those who stick with it.
If students stick with it, it does help them. However, it tends to take them to their frustration point so the kids exit out of the lessons without completing them. Therefore, the program doesn't adjust and the kid keeps getting the same lesson that they never finished. This causes kids to want to give up on it.

Dream Outside the Box!
Our overall opinion of this is a great teaching tool as long as the students are using it in the correct way, we have a few little ones that will just play the same game over and over again and get several lessons completed, however they are only memorizing how to do this one game instead of learning how to master the skills in all areas. As for the older ones, they get frustrated easily because they feel there is not enough instructions on how to complete it. Overall, we think it is a great teaching tool and it has been a huge success in our school.

Dreambox as a differentiated tool
Overall, I think that it is an okay teaching tool to use in the classroom. It provides students with another opportunity to build math skills. The students do enjoy it at the beginning of the year but lose interest relatively quickly. I am always looking for ways to motivate my students to keep going.

Dreambox Review
Dreambox is difficult for teachers to assist how they are supposed to be working on and out of touch of the standards in Wisconsin at time. I like that it reinforces mental math though.

Dreambox--individual, student-led learning within a gaming environment!
I think this is a good project as a teaching tool. Kids are engaging in math in a game-like format. I like that the math is often more conceptually based. I think the ability to change kids' grade levels and provide assigned focus assignments for previous grade-level work can help special needs and ELL learners. However, I do wish that you had additional units for a more traditional approach. My kids already have enough programs and accounts to keep up with (as do I), and I would rather look at one dashboard than at Dreambox, Khan Academy, Prodigy, and so on.
