This site provides information to students in an engaging manner.
I love this website as a teaching tool. BrainPop can deliver the same information that I give to my students simply in a different way. We have many diverse learners in our classrooms. Students gain information in different ways. This is just another way for students to absorb information.

Fantastic for supplementing lessons.
This website is fantastic for providing quick and succinct information to students. I like that these quick fun videos provide the most significant information about a subject. Some of the videos cover difficult concepts and I have found the students are able to quickly pick up concepts covered by Annie and Moby. Quizzes, games, and other activities accompany each video to track student understanding and progress. I use these videos frequently to introduce subjects or as a follow up to a lesson. I am fortunate that my district pays for the service, as the price might be a drawback for some teachers.

Short and sweet educational videos
I think the videos are short enough to maintain student interest and are content heavy enough to be helpful in teaching. I especially like using this with my students who are visual learners.

Great whole group activity.
Brainpop jr is a fast, fun and very educational. It has topics on many different subjects. It gives the students a change of pace to be able to watch a short clip on the Smart Board. This can be used to introduce a topic or summarized a topic. It is also great because the site is easy to manipulate and I can pull up what I need quickly; we all know time is not on our side!

Brain Pop Jr. Summarizes a lesson in just a few minutes!
I really enjoy seeing students fit all the pieces in a lesson. I use it on the smart board and elmo to allow all students to view and watch the movies. When I do use it I have to increase the zoom feature because the videos play in a small box and I have not seen how to enlarge the videos to a whole screen view. However, it just takes a moment to zoom it in to 200% and the video plays great for all my students to watch.
I have never used it individually with students but my son does use this at home for games and individual learning entertainment.

Great website that breaks down concepts effectively
The product is a wonderful teaching tool,
If a student does not get the basic concepts you can use it for individual review or as homework if a student misses a class.
I wish the common core section in the lesson plans could be modified by grade level to allow printing of the standards along with the lesson. You could then print the lesson with the common core standards listed at the top. I would like to see more research videos, biographyvideos and special units in 20th Century American History example: National Parks, Dust Bowl, Primary Sources, 3-5 elementary version of citing sources

A great way to "hook" your students and introduce a new concept!
Each year my students absolutely LOVE Annie and Mobie! They dance and clap as the video begins to play and then their eyes are gravitated to the screen. I've found this app and the videos available to be a wonderful introduction to my lessons. While there are quite a few free videos most require you to purchase annually and it is a bit pricey. I recommend browsing over the concepts to see if they will apply to you but the great thing about Brain Pop Jr. (especially at the first grade level) is that there are so many videos that are applicable to what I am teaching.
