Where's the Learning in Where's My Water?
While a claim can be made that perhaps this app helps bolster a student's problem solving capacity, there is no element of the app that allows such a claim to be substantiated. Don't get me wrong... this is a fun game. Certainly, there is a time and place for this. However, there are a variety of curriculum-aligned apps that allow for students to build, create and problem-solve within the content being studied. With so much to teach and such little time to teach it, this app doesn't contain enough "meat" related to content to make a significant enough impact on real learning.

Great for problem solving and sequencing!
High student engagement, rising levels of challenge, opportunities to retry and rethink encourage students to continue. The game could add a reference section that connected the liquids, solids and steams to scientific concepts for students.

Time to enjoy problem solving skills!
The in-app purchases can be frustrating for the students. At times various links will pop up and redirect the student to the app store.

Fun application of physics for young students!
It's definitely designed for younger students k-8 but certainly entertaining and educational although you might need to "explain" the physics to younger children.

You tell me...
This is a great teaching tool and it is a tone of fun. Thinking outside the box when looking at games and how they can help students with the development of skills that are not necessarily in the curriculum is a really effective way to add engagement and new learning opportunities to the classroom.

Problem solving made fun
I like this app as a problem solving tool. Students plan ahead to accomplish the task of providing enough water to the shower while also trying to achieve the success of catching the duckies in the path too. I do not like that you feel restricted unless you purchase more.

Great Problem Solving
It is a natural problem solving application. You have to make the water run smoothly in the time frame allowed. Students are naturally motivated to solve the problem. I like using it in classes because children are motivated to play the game and solve the problem. It presents problems in fun ways that as a teacher I could not come up with! A great use of technology especially for a teacher who isn't used to using a whole lot of technology in class, easy to use and super motivating!
